Rage us southern supporters can rise above such sarcasm ;):D

Have dosed myself up with paracetamol and vitamin c tablets to ward it off, am determined to keep those germs at bay.

A night sky wonder for free (how's that for OS) - saw it on the tele the other day but just looked out of the window at the moon and the 2 other brightest stars Jupiter and Venus are nearby, looks brill. The clouds have just come over but I will take a pic for posterity!!! (I'll put it on here if I can get a good one) Just been reading up on it and it doesn't come around again until 2052 or thereabouts so make the most if the phenonmenomenomenom while its here!!

There has been a light scattering of snow here and the ground is very slippy.

DD(14) has just come home and said I should not go out for anything today as she nearly slipped several times!

DH took me to the new AlDI that has recently opened but no three in one frozen birds left and very little of my favourite things.

What put the lid on it was when they did not sell bread flour!!!!

Went to Boots and got some presents for oldest DD to give to her sisters for Christmas and she will give me the money later.

Still need to find a couple of boxes and nice wrapping paper to make hampers later this week and need to start writing Christmas cards. Most presents are already ordered and delivered and need to think about wrapping them when DDs are out of the way.

Made jacket potatoes, frikaddellen and mixed veg with cheese sauce and they seem to have enjoyed it.

Welcome to specsappeal and anyone else new to posting on here.

Happy birthday to redruby's OH. :bdaycake:

Thanks Churchmouse :) I do like recipes which use only ingredients I already have in the house :D I've never worked out cup measures though - any idea of volume in terms of dividing an actual squash? e.g. I've got 2 large squash - for a 2-onion recipe would a whole one be too much? And how many cups is a pint of stock?

Redruby - I am hoping to send you some more goodies soon ;):)

Only just got in! A pint of stock is 2 and a half cups (cup is 8 fl oz) I found a normal sized butternut gave about 3 cups so a large one would certainly yield 4. I don't suppose the quantities are critical anyway. HTH

Pippa, so sorry to hear your news. ((hugs)) I'm sure you'll get it back, doesn't make it any less of an awful shock though.

taplady, it was nice to read some good news about your friend, and I hope she will get home very soon. ((hugs)) to you all.

redruby, I'm glad to hear it. Go on spoil him a la Hester;) :D
