Morning All!
Belated happy birthdy to Thriftlady
Congrats to Soapy!
N9eav I agree with you, I went to Specsavers, too. I've decided to have my second pair with a tint so I can use them as sunglasses.
Still feeling c***. Feet are still numb. Been signed off till the New Year, so I'm going to miss the Nativity, and Christmas parties:o Why couldn't this relapse have happenned AFTER Christmas?!
Still, done all my Christmas shopping now. Just bought Grab-it-now's deal. "20 things for 20 quid. " Some of it's okay, but the rest can go in the pressie box for when I'm asked to donate something!:rotfl:
Have a great day all!
I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all! Freezing rain is pouring down here and the kids school bus didn't turn up this morning and my veg delivery hasn't arrived and its ALWAYS here at 8am! So I am wondering if the rain and cold have made the very steep hills round here too slippery to drive up?? Shall find out because dh has just gone to try and take the kids to school!!
Thats what you get for living on Dartmoor!!!
I am supposed ot be out all morning at various activities with little guy but will see if we can drive safely.
I REALLY need to do some baking this pm and the ironing too. Housework will be put on hold unless we are stuck in this morning!
Hope everyone is ok and warm!!
Have a great day!0 -
morning!
wet here - no snow!
did quite well with my jobs yesterday but still got lots of paperwork to do.
Am trying to motivate DS1 while he is jobless:rolleyes: not easy but I have decided he is going to get off his backside and help us out in the house and garden for a change. His job for today is to change his bed and wash the sheets(he's never used the machine before so he'll need a lesson:rolleyes:) if the weather clears up he will also be washing my car! I wont be popular but I can live with it:D
DH wants Roe for his tea(yuk) so not sure what the rest of us are having yet, will investigate the freezer later.
Treated myself to 2 new M & S Bras yesterday as I kept overflowing mine:osaved about 53p with the vat off.
N9eav - I did the same as Hilstep and had my second pair made into sunglasses which are brilliant and I've had a lot of use out of them.
(((hugs))) to those in need of one - PP hope you are ok , Tristan, Halight - sorry about the job.
Have a nice day all
Take care x

Morning Everyone,
CONGRATULATIONS to Soapy and family xxxx
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Thriftlady for yesterday xxxx
Its pretty cold here, been up since 3am with a poorly boy. He's not been sick but his temp is SSSOOOO high I reckon I could fry and egg on him!! So a day indoors today which TBH I could really do without as I have some gardening work to finish up for a friend.
Made a big batch of split pea and butternut squash soup in the SC overnight, have just blitzed it and will have for lunch. I have my apt with the Dietician on thurs, hope its helpful and inspiring.
Got to try and sort something out financially asap as we will be over our OD limit byt the end of this month, nothing to fall back on. Big restructuring to be done.
Hope you are all well,

Morning all!
Hippe Birdie for yesterday thriftlady
Off to work in a minute, made my packed lunch last night and I feel soooo much better for doing it - no rushing around this morning and I can actually enjoy my lie in
Raining here, which I'm glad of as had to scrape the car 3 times yesterday and almost stuffed it into a hedge on the way to work.
Tea is Nosh Up. Working until 8, so think tonight will be spent curled up on the sofa with a book, although I do want to do some baking - might make spiced apple cake...
When people do their spending diaries, do they include all the direct debits etc that go straight from your bank?We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning everyone. It feels like I've missed half a day reading what some of you have been upto already. In work, feeling c**p, thats man flu for you. All the talk in work is of 'I'm a non entity, kick start my career'. I don't watch so can't join in the chat. Feeling better already.
Halight, sorry to hear about your job situation, fingers crossed for things picking up in the new year.
Essex-girl, glad to hear it all went ok.
Cold & wet today, snow has been forecast for later.0 -
Morning all, just had a long post swallowed up.Its chaotic here ,snowing and gridlock.DH and DS cant get out of the road to get to work.
I will have a snuggly day,and do some baking-didnt get round to it yesterday.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
I have now snow
. I do however have slush :rotfl:Mr Rage has sent me a photo from where he works of his car in the very snowy car park - you can really go off some people...... All the birdies in the garden are not looking very happy - especially one of the lackbirds sat on the small apple tree. Anyway, I will be topping up their supplies later on (as well as the budgies') - how much can birds eat? Well, I think we are feeding the entire bird population around here....... and squirrels. I have two avon parcels to post (to people I used to work with and they had items outstanding), an e-bay parcel to post, one to get a price on and some shopping to do. Dinner tonight will be sausage caserole with jackets and veg and sponge pudding and custard. We also have to go do asda to get a stacking storage thing for me to put my excess avon in and store in the garage. I've decided to give up selling Avon after Christmas as I can't be doing with the work for the income (slim pickings 'round here) and will either use up my stuff or sell it. Could keep me going for years :rotfl: . I will also roast some chestnuts whilst the oven is on.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Morning all  . Crisp and cold here in Essex today. Not planning on going out today cos i dont 'do' cold lol. Want to finish my third sock monkey today and hoover all around. Had porridge for breakfast but went a bit overboard with the sugar  . Tea tonight is hm meatballs in tomato sauce and pasta followed by microwave sponge pudding and custard. DS2 is going through (yet another) growth spurt and is eating me out of house and home so will make extra so he can have seconds. DH is taking a friend for his driving test this morning (DH used to be a driving instructor as well as a baker) as our car still has dual controls. Want to have a look online as i want to get DD the new lee evans dvd as a stocking filler so will do that in a mo. I am also doing a reflexology correspondance course so must do a bit of studying for that. Hope you all have a good day.0
