£120 Cashback with Vodafone £15 Sim-Only **Now with problems**

Thats fine, I guess my point was that cashback is never gteed so no point crying if you order something you dont want and then dont get the cashback
I know what your saying but for alot of us who actually want to buy either the sim or contract as we actually want to move mobile phone providers the cashback does play a part in the purchase of a contract especially an 12 month contract or longer as your looking around for the best deal and regardless of whether topcashback/quidco or vodafone want to view it as well its not guarenteed it really should be when people are making the desicion to buy a long term contract.0 -
Having received Martins newsletter on 3rd Dec I requested PAC from my current supplier and followed TCB link for the Vodafone - £120 Cashback and placed order for £15/month Sim-only deal on 5th.
Went to see if it had tracked tonight only to see it tracking at £50 with an Estimated Payable Date of 31 Jan 09.
All very confusing and not what I expected.!

Phew my 12 month contract just tracked at £120 I am so relieved :0) date given is the 31st Jan too :0)0

I went for this and have decided to just return it and get my money back. Can you just return the sim card to your local Vodaphone shop?0

I queried this mess with TCB who have responded:From looking at the Vodafone - Personal cashback offer that was advertised at the time of your visit, it does appear that you have received the correct cashback amount for your visit made on the 04/12/2008 at 22:41. Unfortunately, the previous cashback offer and validation period was amended on the same date at the time of 10:26, so the conditions that will apply will be those as stated prior to your purchase. i.e. £50 cashback subject to an eight month validation period.
Now whilst I do understand and sympathise with TCBs position when a retailer changes their mind, I cannot help but feel aggrieved at having gone through the process of getting my PAC in plenty of time, (or so I thought), and placing my order well before the 'expiry date' only to find the goalposts had moved. Surely TCB should learn from this and word their future offers to indicate the offer may change or be withdrawn at any time, rather than lull people into a false sense of security by giving expiry dates which are meaningless.
Anyway, rant over, (sorry ), I have now cancelled the order with Vodafone - it took one email which was not replied to, and four telephone calls before a manager could eventually find my order to finally cancel today.

*note to self - Check, Check, and Check again......and once more to be sure.!:money:0 -
what number do I call to cancel this? I'd rather send it back I think.0

I did it with the £10 a month sim on quidco back in august before they changed the rules and its over 3 months but it still hasnt validated, its tracked though should i cancel it now or wait until quidco says received0

it does not include the £10 a month sim it was only the £15 upwards
although it says this on quidco website:
Please note that we have been advised by Vodafone that for the time being cashback will not be paid on the £10 monthly SIM only deal however any purchase made before 12pm on 26th August will still be honoured. The 4 month validation still applies.
SO if it was before the 21st of Aug i certainly would hold off now and not cancel just yet.0 -
it was before that date so i will hang on0

im in a bit of a mess with this one!
i took up the offer when i first saw it, recieved the simcard the next day , put it in my phone, my phone is locked to tesco, signed up and paid for a site to unlock it, they arent able to as it cant be unlocked.
so now have this sim card which i have snapped out of the card, havent used but put into my phone, can i return it? i have emailed vodphone (info@v-store.co.uk) asking to cancel my contract with them, is there a distant selling law in relation to this, will they cancel it and not charge me or am i obliged to pay for the card?
ive already lost money on trying to unlock my phone, now i might have to pay for a sim i cant use.!
(sorry for any spelling /grammar mistakes, lifes too short)
So just give Tesco a call and ask them to unlock it for you!! And it won't cost you a penny!:T0
