The only word i have a problem with is the "Should".

Non-committal stand-off policy in action here.

my thoughts exactly. i'll probably regret it but my sim card's going back!

• I got the same response also, so I am just going to ride this one out and see what happens in four months - fingers crossed;)

Can i just as those people who have had isues with the cashback rolling over and over each month and not getting payed did they do sim only contracts? Or did they do the 12 monthly contract?

I took a £20 a month sim only with Vodafone in June when cashback through Quidco was £90. At the time the requirement was to keep the sim for 4 months to get the cashback.

The payout date was originally "Sep 08" which kept rolling over "Oct 08", "Nov 08", "Dec 08"

Obviously since June I have had the sim almost 7 months and as I say mine was the £20 a month sim so not the cheapest option and still they won't pay out.

I fear for anyone else that gets shafted on this.

BTW I have just reqtesued my PAC code as they are not going to get any more of my money the con men.

Typically, signed up for this £120 cashback, £15 SIM only, validated after 4 months deal with TCB on (important bits in bold) Wednesday 3rd Dec 12.30 AM.
Recieved polite email from Vodaphone "Thanks for ordering the following items from Vodafone" at 8.30 AM same morning.
At 21.30 PM same day had another email "Your credit check has been approved and we’re processing your order now."

Now I'm pretty sure the Terms of this deal changed to "8 months validation" before I recieved this final confirmation email from Vodaphone (from reading other posts on this forum).
So, now I'm wondering when did the "£120 pending" in TCB account actually track, was it at 12.30 AM, 8.30 AM or 21.30 PM on the 3rd Dec.

Special Delivery of SIM came, however missed the postie, so need to go and collect it. IF I were to cancel this, could I just not go and pick the SIM up (or refuse it if they tried to redeliver) and it would get sent back to Vodaphone, meaning I wouldnt have to pay for any postage back?

MORPH3US, thanks for sharing your experience, it has almost made up my mind to cancel, as thats a very sneaky way of keeping you to a contract you don't want.

Hi, I also e-mailed TCB. For those of us that were quick off the mark the response is:

Thanks for your enquiry,

With regards to the validation period that you have mentioned, what you have initially saw advertised for the time in which you clicked-through to this merhcant's website to proceed in making your purchase - should be the validation time in which applies to your purchase.

Kind regards,

Ryan. said on 4 December 2008 at 11:26 :Hello, on Monday I signed up for the Vodafone offer of £120 cashback. It stated that the £15 SIM only deal was valid if you took it out for 4 months. Now it says it is only £50 and for 8 months. Since I had signed up under previous terms are they bound by these or would I also be included in the new terms. Thank you.

It would seem that they're bound by their original terms if you signed up Monday/ Tuesday.
It doesnt really matter how many conditions they are bound to. If vodafone dont pay or only decide to pay £50 there is nothing you can do IMO. Cashback is always a risky option if you are only buying for the cashback. If you were getting the sim because you wanted it there wouldnt be a problem.

Most people are greedy though and only ordered beacuse they were going to get some free money at someones expense.

Thats fine, I guess my point was that cashback is never gteed so no point crying if you order something you dont want and then dont get the cashback

im in a bit of a mess with this one!
i took up the offer when i first saw it, recieved the simcard the next day , put it in my phone, my phone is locked to tesco, signed up and paid for a site to unlock it, they arent able to as it cant be unlocked.
so now have this sim card which i have snapped out of the card, havent used but put into my phone, can i return it? i have emailed vodphone (info@v-store.co.uk) asking to cancel my contract with them, is there a distant selling law in relation to this, will they cancel it and not charge me or am i obliged to pay for the card?
ive already lost money on trying to unlock my phone, now i might have to pay for a sim i cant use.!
(sorry for any spelling /grammar mistakes, lifes too short)

why not go into one of those local phone unlockers :0) alot of the online ones are scams and it also means you pay nothing until your phone is actually unlocked :0) why not try that tomorrow and if its still unlockable then go the option of returning on mon. I might be wrong but if you have not activated the sim you can return it just put it back in the plastic surround and stick abit of celotape on the back :0) to hold it in place.
