£120 Cashback with Vodafone £15 Sim-Only **Now with problems**

I think the cashback sites are in an awkward situation if one of their clients changes their mind about an offer. Quidco have a thing saying that if you sign up to Be broadband you get £76 back plus free connection, but if you try to do it it tells you the voucher code for free connection is no longer valid. I emailed Be and they have confirmed that the Quidco offer is no loner valid, but it's still showing on the Quidco website. Can't see a cashback site trying to take them to court for changing their mind, though. Thanks to all who post constructively.

JUST GOT A REPLY FROM TOP CASH BACK:
Hi ,
Unfortunately Vodafone have canged this offering due to the extreme amount of people subscribing to the offer. They have also informed us that this is now updated across all cashback sites with an 8 month validation and £50 maximum...there are no current plans by them to increase this later.
Sorry if you missed out on this, but if you do see it higher on any other cashback sites at the moment it may be worth getting to check the rate otherwise you may find you're not paid the amount you expect.

Can i just as those people who have had isues with the cashback rolling over and over each month and not getting payed did they do sim only contracts? Or did they do the 12 monthly contract?
Does the 12 month contract if tracked pay out normally?
The reason i am asking is lets face it if the sim only is now basically an 8 month contract and you only get £50 and is likely to keep rolling over and over as mensioned would it not be better just to get the 12 month contract as you get £120 in 4-5 weeks according to top cash back.0 -

the problem is that vodafone may change their minds and decide not to pay the £120. that's what they've done for the sim only so I think i'll leave vodafone alone as the cashback looks uncertain. If, however, you need a contract anyway then there's nothing to lose0 -
Hi, I am sorry to have guided everyone to the offer, only to find it has taken a number of nasty turns.
Because Vodafone have failed to honour cashback terms in the past and the "middle men" sites like Quidco and TCB have very little power over this multi-national. I will be sending my sim back. For me it was simply a way of having 4 months of call for free plus a brucey bonus.
Good luck everyone, you should evaluate your own situation and why you wanted the sim, whether you're happy to take the risks of payment etc.NO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS
When did i stop being able to fit Hoola-Hoops over my fingers?:think:0 -

Don't feel bad about it No1JOKER Its not your fault many people got an email from topcashback directly telling them about the offer. How could any of us know they would pull the deal.
I have now purchased the contract 12 months at £30 and am hoping it tracks and i get the £1200 -
What is it about TopCashBacks support that makes them not able to spell?
Two emails posted above both have spelling mistakes!0 -
im in a bit of a mess with this one!
i took up the offer when i first saw it, recieved the simcard the next day , put it in my phone, my phone is locked to tesco, signed up and paid for a site to unlock it, they arent able to as it cant be unlocked.
so now have this sim card which i have snapped out of the card, havent used but put into my phone, can i return it? i have emailed vodphone (info@v-store.co.uk) asking to cancel my contract with them, is there a distant selling law in relation to this, will they cancel it and not charge me or am i obliged to pay for the card?
ive already lost money on trying to unlock my phone, now i might have to pay for a sim i cant use.!
(sorry for any spelling /grammar mistakes, lifes too short)0 -
Hi, I also e-mailed TCB. For those of us that were quick off the mark the response is:
TopCashBack said on 5 December 2008 at 10:22 :Hi there,
Thanks for your enquiry,
With regards to the validation period that you have mentioned, what you have initially saw advertised for the time in which you clicked-through to this merhcant's website to proceed in making your purchase - should be the validation time in which applies to your purchase.
I got the identical reply (somebody has been busy with the C&P :rotfl: ). The only word i have a problem with is the "Should".
Non-committal stand-off policy in action here.NO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS
