£120 Cashback with Vodafone £15 Sim-Only **Now with problems**

Quidco still paying £90 after 4 months, seems the more reliable deal to me.0
-
ok now it says 8 months not 4 - i've contacted topcashback to ask them about this as it seems unfair to suddenly change the terms. I don't want to find out that I've forked out £60 on a sim for nothing - i'll probably cancel0

Just to warn everyone, I took a similar deal out through Quidco in June and the cashback should have paid out Sep 08. At the end of Sep it changed to "Oct 08" and end of Oct changed to "Nov 08" then "Dec 08".....
No prizes if anyone correctly guesses what'll happen at the end of December.
All I am saying is don't take the deal if you are relying on the cashback, it may never come if Vodafone have anything to do with it.
At least with "send your bill off" cashback, if you do it all right and can prove it then you can take them to small claims court. With this sort of cashback you don't have any comeback.
Have to add though, Topcashback may be better than Quidco, but the warning is here.

Have to agree, I bought via quidco end of June 08, and though tracked payment date just keeps rolling over. Seems to be a few people on here in a similar situation.
I contacted quidco yesterday, and got a reply today saying they are working on sorting out the backlog. Maybe if a few more people on here submitted a ticket, they may work a bit harder.
Incidently, has anyone cancelled their 30 day contract yet. I need to as I will be out of the country for several months, but bit nervous they will cancel my cashback, though have had sim for 5 months.
So just a warning, never rely on cashback!!0 -
It appears to have changed very recently. I took a copy of the page at : 03 December 2008, 19:34:48 and it stated:
The MSE email effect no doubt...
I have started an enquiry too regarding the 8 months qualification. I agree with the people who warn about the dangers of relying on cashback and hopefully my confirmation date won't keep getting bumped.
With the collapse of so many financial companies over the past 12 months, i would encourage people not to store up too big a balance on any cashback or survey site. These aren't 'Nothern Rock' or 'IceSave' you would lose your funds.NO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS
When did i stop being able to fit Hoola-Hoops over my fingers?:think:0 -
ive just enquired this to topcashback, see whats going on and am i eligable as i signed up for the 4 month contract0

can anyone please advise what we should be doing if we took it out for £120 cashback and a 4month contract? I have just seen the website now saying 8months and only £50 cashback - checked my account and it is still saying £120 pending but not sure what to do now, should I contact vodafone or topcashback or just return the sim? sorry to be so stupid but have never used cashback before:o0
-
a few if us here have contacted topcashback already and awaiting the reply. just keep all the reciepts and the card intact, you have 14 days to return it. i would think if we have signed up before the chnges were made they are bound by the terms and conditions as are we, like the post office one, where they chnged the goal posts and alot of late comers had differnet rules.
see what comes from topcashback0 -
I was about to go for the deal yesterday, but had to leave at short notice - DAMM! However, when I read today's notice about Vodaphone dropping the deal down to £50 cashback, I rang Orange (my current provider) and arranged a better deal than the one I could have got with Vodaphone. OK, so I didn't get the cashback, but at least the process saved me quite a lot of money
Thanks Martin0 -
I'm really irrated by this :0(
Last night i emailed top cash back to query the change from 4 months to 8 months with the plan of taking out the £120 sim only deal. I had no plan of moving after the 4 months and was planning on staying with vodafone. I then went onto ebay and bought myself a new sony ericsson w980 as it was cheeper then taking out a contracted monthly deal over 12 months. Only to find not only do i not have a reply from top cash back but my waiting that few hours now shows the cashback is down to £50 so i rushed to quidco to buy theres at £90 to find they have lowered it too.
What i don't understand is i like many of you would have received the email from top cash back telling us of the vodafone offer on till 7th of Dec so how can they then change it before then :0(
Not sure what to do now :0( I got the phone i ordered my pac to leave 3 now i am in limbo wishing i had not bought the phone.. grrr0 -
I'm still waiting for a reply. We have 14 days to cancel so I'll wait for a reply then decide what to do. Now there are two dimensions: after 4 months there may be no cashback, and after eight months there may only be £50 - has it been reduced as vodafone have now decided they won't pay out £120. There wouldn't be any contractual obligation to honour it I don't think so I think i'm going to bail out, but I'll wait for the reply first as we have 14 days to cancel. Bad PR for vodafone IMO and would think twice before using them as a provider.0
