    Morning all :)

Pleased to report a 1 lb loss this week so I'm back on track after some wobbly weeks and lots of STS weeks.

Today will be a bit scary as I have absolutely no idea what we are having for dinner tonight so I am at the mercy of my friend and his culinary talents ;)

B/L: Boiled eggs and wholemeal toast (no butter)

D: Who know, will report back tomorrow and try not to go too OTT

Hope you all have a fab weekend X

:T :T Well done to all the losers and keep going to those that are struggling. I can report another 1lb off, but think it is really going to slow now as its those last few dratted points to get back to target!

RS - you did really well to lose 2 1/2lb:j , although you do sound disappointed. Would it help you to visulise the weightloss in any way? I mean you have lost more than a bag of sugar, perhaps you could use pennies or pebbles for every 1/2 lb and put in a glass jar and you can see then how you are doing. If you get dispondant go and find something equal to the weight you've lost - shove it in a bag and carry it around for a while. You won't want to be doing that for long. We are all here to cheer you along. Just take one step at a time!

anyway - better go and put my own words of wisdom into action :o , have signed up for race for life - I used to walk and run abit - but then became ill and had a big op last year. I want to run it in under 30mins (there are a few hills!) It's 31st May - so bit of time to get fitness up! Legs ache thinking about it :rotfl:

    good idea!

a friend of mine weighed the equivalent weight she had lost in gravel and put it in strong carrier bags - over 2 1/2 stone and she can barely lift them now so she wonders how on earth she managed to carry all that weigh around with her before!:T

floyd and lainz - well done on losing this week!:T

    Morning all :hello:
A big well done to floyd and Marie :T .
Happy to say it’s another bright day, ideal for walking. Walked on the beach yesterday, blue sky, choppy sea with wind surfers almost taking off and thought how fantastically lucky I am. I might moan about none stop dog walking in all weathers but days like these certainly make you glad to be alive, and I was a good girl yesterday, no munchies.:D

This morning the postman brought the first stage of my seed order, so the new growing season will soon be with us and lots of healthy veg to look forward to. I do wish MRSM was still posting because she inspired my horticultural efforts. Keiss were you a professional gardener? Is insect netting any good for keeping the dreaded cabbage whites off the sprouts?? I hope you survived all the hobbits. You must get very bored not able to do all the usual things, thinking of you ((hugs)).

Marion, I wish I’d kept my old dishwasher now(it’s me from now on), great bit of recycling there!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Todays menu is;
Breakfast - usual oatabix, fruit concoction
Lunch - 2 slices of seeded wholemeal bread, no marg or butter with egg mixed with salad cream and cherry tomatoes, followed by rhubarb yogurt.
Tea – GFY lasagne with large salad. Saturday’s our easy day with the men folk having pizza.
    Snack – Date and raisins

Hope you all have a good day folks - Suz

Iainz and RS well done to you both you should be very proud :j :T . Another week before I dare step on the scales, lets just say the first part of the month was less than perfect:rolleyes: .

The visualization idea is fantastic. I might try it the other way round and see how much the 12lbs I put on is, to make it more real.

Off to get my egg butty now, be good - suz.

    Hello everyone!

Not sure if I should post here or on the quick reply but please feel free to redirect me!

I made 3 OS low fat/cal recipes today. Morag's version of Twinks hobnobs! Wow! They are so so good! I used sweetner instead of sugar and they were still delish! Thanks so much for the recipe!

I have a few questions tho regarding the other 2 recipes I did. The first, a malt loaf is lovely, a bit crispy on top though so I think I should turn the heat down a touch... is that right? Secondly, It has flour, ginger, bicarb, sultanas, golden syrup and water. Could I replace the sultanas with a banana to make a sort of banana bread? I think it would work!

The other recipe - weetabix cake. It's very very wet. Too crispy on top again so I'll turn the temp down but should I reduce the liquids or add more flour/weetabix? Recipe was 2 weetabix, 4oz sultanas, 4 oz sf flour, 5fl oz milk and 5 fl oz water, 1/2 fl oz sweetner, 1 egg, 1tsp mixed spice. It also didn't rise well - should I add a bit of bicarb?

Any help is much appreciated! I'm trying to learn how to bake so it's a learning curve!

  • Hello everyone - hope you are all having a good weekend. REading spugz's baking reports I thought I would post my All bran cake recipe - it's just a tweaked version of the OS recipe all bran cake but it is lovely and has no added sugar or any fat in it!

1 mug full of all bran
    1 mug full of Splenda
1 mug full of skimmed milk (or soya milk or even black tea)
    1 mug full of flour
1 mug full of mixed dried fruit of any kind - I use all different sorts, but my favourite is sultanas and chopped glace cherries.

You just mix everything together in a bowl and leave for about an hour and then bake in a moderate oven in a lined loaf tin (I have a silicone one) for about 45 minutes to an hour. When cooked and cooled it is best wrapped in foil or greaseproof paper and put in an airtight tin for 24 - 48 hours. Then it is lovely sliced thinly and spread with a little low fat spread or even just dry with a cup of tea.

I went out today and came in at 8.30 STARVING and so overate:o Had HM turkey curry and wholegrain rice - all free but had a HUGE portion and then had some hm popcorn - I am now really really thirsty even though I have had a huge mug of tea. Will have to be extra good tomorrow.

Well done to Floyd and Marie and all other losers! Floyd - the visualisation thing is a good idea!

spendaholic - thanks for the recipe. Looking at that I'm sure my recipe has far too much liquid! I've got 10 weetabix to use and I don't really like them as a breakfast so a bit of experimenting is in order me thinks!

''I went out today and came in at 8.30 STARVING and so overate'' - besides evening munchies this is my main weight loss problem! I come home from work and I'm so hungry I eat loads! I need to start having a snack mid-afternoon I think because I can get home from work and polish off a ridiculous amount of food just pickin bits out the fridge and cupboard! No good for my botty or my pocket! Little pickers wear bigger knickers!
