Have put two pounds on this week...not really surprising I suppose, the mince pies I made last Sunday were sooooo good :D

Just got back from work's Christmas lunch...Gloucestershire College...so a big one, 750 people there!!

This was my first visit to the campus since last year's Xmas do... (been off work ever since, hope to get back early in 2010)...it was great catching up with lots of people! I took my own cushion and kept my TENS machine on, so I coped not too badly, though a bit ropey at the end.

I really enjoyed myself...they had a GLOSCOL's got Talent competition..a great laugh (though a bit painful at times!)...the winner was Susan's Boil (he was a great singer!)...so 'she' won this time!

Now off to have another lie down...still quite sore.

Have lil' sis visiting tomorrow, coming by train from Slough...must sew up the body-warmers that I have knitted for her and her 9 year-old daughter, then get them wrapped.

Tea will be a sandwich for me as I had such a lovely Christmas lunch, DH and DS2 are having HM beefburgers in rolls...and probably melted cheese...might have a sneaky bite of one of them!!

Have a great weekend everyone, snow or no snow...we had only a slight flurry at lunch-time, but it is still lying as it is so cold (-1 degree C as I speak!).

Keiss - glad you had a good time at the college.Dont worry about the 2lbs - you're certainly not alone in putting on this week!:D
I'm still struggling - meals ok but as usual too many in between temptations and we havent even got to the chocolates yet!:D
I have over eaten carp this week and feel so slugish, why do I do it when I know I feel so much better when I eat properly:mad:

anyway I'm trying to have a few good days before Christmas to lessen the weight gain a bit although I've got a 3 course meal tomorrow evening but it shouldn't be too bad as I've tried to chose sensibly.

    today

B - boiled egg and toast

L - jacket spud, half fat cheese and salad

D - roasted veggies, roasters and a quorn type thing.

will try and stick to fruit for snacks - fingers crossed!:D

Man alive I can't get away from temptation!

Staying with family so yesterday was as follows:
    B: nothing
L: Squash soup, sea bass with green veg, small M&S panna cotta
D: Brie and tomato tart, lamb tagine with cous cous, cherry clafoutis

    Today:
B: Small bowl optivita with milk, glass oj
L: Bajan fishcakes, sea bass with new potatoes, raspberry and hazelnut meringue
D: Probably nothing or a slice of toast if I fancy it

Really need to go food shopping as we don't have anything that could pass as a Christmas lunch. Fortunately OH doesn't eat chocs or cakes so I won't have them in. Hoping to get myself back on track tomorrow as all the visits are over and no more work parties so Christmas day will be my only day to have the nice bits and bobs :-)

not weighing, don't want to upset myself ;-)

Belated Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you have all had a great time so far. :rudolf:

WI yesterday...and I have stayed the same! :j

I am really pleased with this...as I have over-indulged food-wise quite a bit this past week! Not sure if I will manage to lose anything before the New Year, but will re-start sensible eating come 2010...honest! At least by then some of the food stores should have gone down a bit!!

Right off to watch Mr Tennant in Hamlet...forgot the time and that it was on tonight...can see me i-playering it later on in the week!

I may well pop in before the end of the year..see you then!

Thanks taplady - I thought it would perhaps keep me on the straight and narrow a bit more! :D

Knowing that I can stay the same while eating carp, it SHOULD be easy to lose weight in the New Year when I eat better and do more exercise! Now why do I think it won't really be this that easy!!

  • Hello
I'm back. Need to loose some serious weight or won't be able to face sis when I visit her Jan 19 - she is in Aus. I need new clothes but have put on over xmas, too many roses - the cadbury kind. Today has been better, only had 6 or 7 coffees, and a bowl of home made soup, lentil and various veggies. Teens are having pizza but I'm staying away from that. Have given them the biscuits and sweets and told them to eat up. Planning on green lentil shep pie for dinner but as had red lentils for lunch maybe I should change that. There is some chestnut pie left from xmas so think that will have to do. Need to exercise but don't want to go out. Hmm.
