feel shattered this morning, the beasts were up at 6 and would not go back to sleep  i have to not let me use it as an excuse to eat carp!
just me and the kids today, OH is away, we are going to a country park with friends and will take a picnic. hopefully will do some running about after them too
today looks a bit like this:
2 x toast and a scrape of butterwell it is the weekend!
lunch: either egg or tuna with extra light mayo sandwiches, fruit and maybe a bag of quavers
dinner: not sure yet, havent got anything out of the freezer. might give the kids LO sheperds pie and have fish and salad myself.

Hi everyone - sorry I joined up then disappeared... I have had message board addiction in the past so love this one where you can come and go as you please.
I have had a good week this past week and lost 2 lbs. I have done a lot of soul searching and tried to see what I do that stops me losing (eating of course lol), but what makes me stuff another sandwich in just for the sake of it! I am a serious emotional eater and am trying to face the reasons why I do it instead of reaching for the bread bin.
I used to have a serious sausage roll/anything with warm pastry habit, but went cold turkey last year and seem to have moved on from that! Yeah me!
We have just started the day with a home made cappuccino, lean bacon and egg pannini, and some OJ - sat outside too - nice to sit and take 5 mins! We have a really busy day today as we are going on goliday next week to Devon and this is really the only day we have to get ready.
Also I got a new car yesterday - a silver merc. It's a real grown up persons car, and it is money saving ish as there are some amazing deals on at the moment. Anyway - no excuses..... I am just going to enjoy being shallow and loving a material item!! lol
On with the day and Happy birthday belated tp Froggo.

Hi all, thanks for all the support it really makes a difference. I saw a friend yesterday who has also had weight issues for a long time and he gave me some words of encouragement too so I feel better today
I ended up eating a thin cheese salad sandwich and yoghurt for lunch then another cheese sandwich and a bag of crisps later in the day as the only other options were fish and chips or burger and chips so I thought at least its easier to count a sandwich accurately
Today we are going to a friends place for his mammas lasagne and I made a fresh raspberry torte so I might just use this as my 'treat' day where I have a normal portion of something nice and don't feel guilty about it :T
B: 2 wholemeal toast with marmalade
L: Nothing, got up late insteadLasagne and salad, slice of raspberry torte and maybe a glass of red wine
Have a great week all0 -
Afternoon!
Floyd - glad you're feeling better today!
yesterday was good but today not so good. We've been out to a carboot and stopped at a food fayre on the way home and had a veggie samosa followed by an almond croissant:eek: am just about to go and mow the lawns to try and work it off:D
B - WW toast and low sugar marmalade
L - veggie samosa, almond croissant:o
D - HM quorn cottage pie and veggies.
I'll try and not ruin the rest of the day by overeating carp.
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Hi Black Taxi! welcome to our merry band!:hello:
perhaps you could tell us the sort of things you eat at the moment and we can offer some advice on the best way to make some changes. Also take a look at some of the meal plans here to give yourself an idea of the type of food required.
As to exercise what do you do at the moment? if the answer is nothing I'd say start slowly with a bit of walking and build it up. Personally I dont use the gym, I prefer to get my exercise by walking, housework and gardening.
Working nights is dreadful for the diet(DH used to do this)I'd advise taking some food to work with you to try and avoid the temptation of fast food.
I expect some more of our fellow posters will soon be along as well as our resident frog(frogga - she knows her stuff though;)) to give you some more tips.
Good luck and please feel free to ask any questions if you wish xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hiya Black Taxi
My Oh did nights there not long ago it was awful on him, his eating was all over the place and he tended to go to work at 8pm without anything to eat and had takeaway, i did him a lunch of sarnies while he was at work but he is a bus driver and the kebab houses were very tempting that he drove past!!! Plus workmates had pizzas and kebabs which didn't help.
All he had to cook with was a manky microwave so meals were hard, i tried to make him a dinner at 7pm but he was jut up and wasn't too hungry.
I did lots of baked potatoes(he could re-heat) with salad and cheese or beans(in a little tub). Soup and crusty bread was good and filling too for him.
I have not long joined this thread and i have to say they are an extremly helpful and lovely bunch who offer some very good advice and support if needed(as i have read).
I am 12 stone and hoping to go down to 11stone by at least the end of the year but temptation is proving hard for me
No bike ride today as we had to visit a friends son in hospital and then my mum and then some tidying up but it is on for tomorrow so hopefully i will make it up.
However in the oven now is a homemade treacle pudding for our pudding, i am having a small bit with ice cream but that is my only naughtyness today
B: 2 x crumpets scrapped with butter
L: eggy bread 1 1/2 slicessausage, chips and spaghetti but it was a small portion and everything was grilled
S: cereal and a satsuma
Going to bed early though to stop me snacking lol0 -
Grateful, what are sw syn free chips?
you caught me too late for the breadcrumb though
sorry, I got behind with the thread. You peel potatoes and slice as for chips, then boil for 5/6 min and drain. Then you put in an oven dish and spray with fry-light (from supermarket, its spray oil, v.low cal) and bung in a hot oven for 20/25 min. Good if you put dried chilli flakes on and/or salt and pepper before they go in the oven. Yummy. ooh sorry taplady, you got there first! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
