New DFW - Now my diary!!!
Comments
-
Well where have I been?!?! SO not fair - no time lately for the boards but I promise I haven't fallen off the DFW wagon!! I hope everyone is well???
My dad arrived after me not seeing him for 6 months, so a bit of time spent catching up there and trying to see friends before xmas whilst also wrapping pressies and doing housework (god damn fairies don't help anymore)
I've infact even sneaked my spend diary into work today to work out January and what I budget I have and how to handle it best!
Things I have done;
1) When I was paid I immediately paid the petrol I put on CC in November off as this was in my expenses in my wages. The remainder of the mileage expenses I moved to Instant Saver account towards car tax (due end January)
2) Put back a present that I really didn't have to buy when queuing up in the shop the other day. Was getting it to be more generous - as I got near til - I just told the lady I didn't want it and bought the original items I'd gone in there to buy. :T
3) Told dad a little bit about my money issues to try and relay to family that I'm not being "tight" - I just am single with a lot of household outgoings (a few of them REALLY still don't get it and I have to really bite my tongue :rolleyes:)
What do I need to do;
1) Still ring Sky:o:o:o:o
2) Write food shopping list for tonight so I don't wander aimlessly
3) Get few more presents - but nothing major.
4) Wrap presents tonight and see friend.

Thanks guys!!
DTDT - you're so right - I really do have that guilty pang... and worse cos I've now been paid - but that has to last all through January too. And deep down I know I can't afford to go mad... its convincing myself just as much as other people that I do not have the money!!
I have however resisted a latte from work cafe as our machine in kitchen is broke... going to have tea instead!
Just putting together the food shop list now!! So much for loads of work todaybut my phone hasn't rang and I'm pretty much up to date on stuff!!

Good Morning
Nats - gonna pop in and reply in your thread hun!!
Well last night - I did well at shoppingShock horror was that it was £69.00, :eek: but that included £10 on my christmas beer (not really a wine girl!!) and £14 on christmas wrap & gifts; chocolates, cheese for my dad's port & cheese hamper - which I've saved a fortune on making myself.
Therefore as beer was my treat I used my reward points to pay towards shopping - £10 there. And £20 was in my purse from xmas shopping on Sunday - so that went towards the christmas stuff. So I only switched £40 out of my account that I had mentally allocated!!! If I keep to this fortnightly shopping budget, then I'm spending £80 - £100 a month (max) - saving £60-80 than I was wasting before. And I know I can still get this down. I'm just working on it.
I was very MSE and picked up the reduced chicken breasts - as it was use by today. So thought the minute I get home - I'll put in freezer bags... Cut it open and unfortunately it was off - it smelt. I do respect it was reduced but it wasnt use by until today :rolleyes:. So this morning I took it back though as shop not far from work and got my money back and bought some fresh stuff - ok I spent a little more as no reduced price - but when it comes to chicken - you just can't be too careful!!
The old me wouldn't have taken it back - too much hassle - but I am not wasting money any more!!!
Anyway - I'm sure you guys don't need any more detail on my shopping!! :rotfl:
Well 7.5 hours left at work!! (well 6 if you take off lunch) - Can't wait ........ then i'm not back til 5th Jan!!! :cool:

Well done on taking back the chicken!! I'm awful at taking things back... I sold a load of clothes on ebay that I'd never worn because I couldn't be bothered to take them back - no more though now I'm MSE
I'm amused at Nat's turkey pricingGood work!!
