I'm a farm worker... went straight into that after Uni having had part time jobs on the local farms during my degree. The pay is OK, the job is enjoyable and you get a few decent side benefits.
I also chop and sell logs and look after a local large garden for a bit of extra tax free cash. All in all not a bad life I must say.0 -

I am in my late 20's and work as I.T Consultant. I am self-employed and I am currently working on a govt. contract and make around £35-40K a year.
Sometimes I can work 12 hour days other times I work 4 hours, it is very irregular work but I love contracting and so far the I.T market has not been hit that hard by the recession so hopefully I will always be needed.Sup'0 -
I'm 40 and I'm a Credit Controller. Basically, I chase up Companies that owe money on unpaid invoices and check that new accounts can have credit. I got made redundant last year after my job was outsourced to Eastern Europe. It can be a well-paid job, but I'm temping right now for much less than I was on. I was on £25k a year - and I have no formal qualifications - I have 4 CSE's and thats it. Common sense is what you need!
Also do loads of surveys and the odd bit of ebaying now and then.I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum?0 -
I'm 33 and have worked for the Police for 15 years. Currently a researcher. Not bad money and its a reasonably safe a flexible job (touch wood!)0
