As othe person who originated the "why is MSE running so slowly" techie question yesterday morning, I am really pleased to see this site back up to normality today.

Many thanks to those who have worked long and hard to get it corrected.

  • I wondered where the avatars kept going - kept trying to put mine back on thinking I'd somehow taken it off & was going mad!

    Feel slightly stupid now :rotfl:

Martin, thanks for taking the time to tell us what is happening. We have not really had any feedback since the server move banner massages last year.

Why not restrict access to the popular shopping forums (like quick grabbit, shop but don't drop and freebies) to registered members only? Newbies/non members can then still view the more important forums like the ones in the Pure Money section.

There must be a HUGE number of non-members/lurkers continuously refreshing the quick grabbit and other shopping forums in the hope of finding a quick bargain. This should be restricted to members only.
