Not quite the same thing but I've got a book called Mince and in there is a recipe for curry made with turkey mince. I've tried it and it was very nice.0

Okay, part of my New Years resolutions has been to cook a new meal for my children one a week.
Was in tesco yesterday and bought turkey mince with the idea that I could find a recipe and build around what i had.
The only recipe I have found (besides burgers) is stroganoff containing condensed cream of mushroom soup which sounds ok.
Does anyone have any other ideas? My girls (5 and 3) are typical fussy children!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I regularly make meat balls with turkey mince. I add breadcrumbs, cooked onion, egg & season with garlic, ginger, cumin & coriander. I make a tomato sauce with peppers in it and add them to it. Serve with spaghetti or tagliatelle. My children love this !
Or you can make meatloaf with it

Turkey Mince goes great with Sweet Chilli Sauce.
Fry it off with diced onion, garlic, chilli powder/cayenne/paprika, diced mixed peppers, mushrooms, kidney beans - exactly as you would with an ordinary Chilli - add a tin of chopped tomatoes and a dollop of Sweet Chilli Sauce ...................... serve with Boiled Rice or Pasta and Garlic Bread.
In fact, any recipe that calls for Minced Beef can be made with Turkey Mince. Just add some different herbs/flavours to bring out the 'turkey taste' - ie sage instead of mixed herbs; chicken stock cubes instead of beef ones.
I also make Gobbler Pie - a variation on Cottage Pie.
By the way - try using Pork or Lamb Mince with appropriate variations. For me, it all depends on what I can get hold of from the 'whoopsie shelf' when I'm there :rotfl:.

I use it to make all sorts, basically I replace beef mince with Turkey, so I make chilli, spag bol, cottage pie, meatloaf, meatballs..etcM.A.C.A.W member number 39

I've used it to make any receipe calling for mince. In fact I have a receipe book called Mince! which gives a curry receipe calling for turkey or chicken mince.0

Thanks everyone.
Still undecided, haha.
But I think I will try the recipe I found for stroganoff as I have all the ingredients at home.
Then if they like it (or even if they don't), but more turkey mince and try them with meatballs.
Quite like the idea of different minces. My mum made them veal spaghetti bolognese the other week and they both loved it!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Again, I use it in any mince dish. It's low in fat and tends to find its way onto the bargain shelf, presumably as other people don't know what to do with it. However, it lends itself to things like Bolognese sauce, chill con carne and keema curry, with a strongly flavoured sauce. And you can always "beef it up" with an OXO cube or two. Most times even I can't tell exactly what mince I've made stuff with.
PS. If a cottage pie made with lamb mince is a shepherds pie, then surely one made with turkey mince should be a poultrymans pie?
PPS. That reminds me: I once did the Nigel Slater one with turkey mince and root vegetable mash on top. Different and delicious. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
