I use it for anything that calls for minced meats, My children much prefer it to beef mince, as it has no grizzly bits in it, and it is also so very very low in fat.
A quick meal is to mince up some bacon, add it to the mince, bind with a beaten egg, season, then shape into walnut size pieces, pan fry to seal and then pop in the oven for 15 minutes.
They are great served with home made potato wedges."Aunty C McB-Wik"

You can make kebabs with it (from secret takeaway book), taste great. Again add a little soy or worcestershire sauce to the mince for extra flavour.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I'd do what UnixgirlUK suggested, and make a turkey kebab based on the lamb one from the secret takeaway book. The lamb one is delicious, and very flavourful. I'd serve it in pitta with a said salad and hm taziki.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000

I have a catering business and recently had to adapt a chicken satay recipe for someone with a nut allergy so I went on the Good Food website and stumbled across Vietnamese Chicken Parcels (I used turkey mince as it was easier to find!) and they went down a storm. Rather than use fresh lemongrass and prepare it myself, I saw a tube ready prepared in the supermarket. I forgot to put the coriander in at the food mixer stage, so just chopped it up and added it to the sugar stage and it made a great speckled effect. Keep cooking them until they caramelise into a dark brown colour and I swear you won't be disappointed. Nom nom.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice when it comes to making a chilli with turkey mince?
Chilli is OH's favourite meal but he can't really eat beef due to it triggering his IBS, so I thought I'd attempt a chilli made with turkey mince but it doesn't appeal to me much.
Any tips on making it really tasty?
Thanks
Jess

I have cooked with turkey mince and actually found it quite tasty. I tend to do 50:50 with mince, e.g. 50%beef, 50% turkey or pork so you could try 50% beef and 50% turkey?0

Yes you can make it with turkey mince. Can he have beef stock cubes? if so, then 2 of these will help. If not then you can you mushroom which gives a good flavour. Not got time now but I'll post the recipe I use which uses turkey/quorn mince.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I have done chilli and bolognese with turkey mince before...I prefer it with beef but it's not terrible with turkey, just a bit less flavour. I use a few good beef stock cubes to give it more flavour, if that's an option. And plenty of cumin and chilli powder, of course! Chipotle sauce/paste also adds a good smokey flavour.Kate.0

The original mexican mole recipe from which chilli is derived is a turkey based dish with a chocolate sauce. You can find a recipe here:

I do one in the slow cooker and add plain chocolate along with 1tsp chilli powder, 1tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp ground cloves. It's got loads of flavour!
