  • Hi All,
Had 9 X £25 of these vouchers and went along to B & Q sale to buy some more kitchen units etc and got a rude awakening at the check out. Came home in a mood, got online and found this forum, after reading kalifire's post I dashed back to Woolies and was advised by the girl on the till to buy small items. Bought 9 half price kit kats and paid for them one at a time at the her till, getting change each time.
Wot a nice young lady!!! So thanks to all you posters - saved me a few quid.
    Todger
PS The B & Q sale is a big con!
Example: on 13 oct I bought a kitchen cabinet door - their autumn catalogue price £9.00 - reduced by 45% - paid £5.40 (Sale) - that was a bargain.
Today same door in store is £18.00 reduced to £9.00 in their "50%" Sale
PPS Anyone want a Kit Kat

Bent&Questionable once again? They all want close watching at the moment, sadly it's that sort of 'Retail environment' now!

Wonder what next from Kingfisher Group who of course own B&Q but won't honor their totally discredited vouchers there.

My local Woolworths - which has now closed also exchanged KGV's for straight cash, Bless them. It did involve getting the manager, but he was most helpful.

I wonder just why are Kingfisher Group opening "Screwfix' branches all over the place?
    ;)
Everybody I speak to about it have been perfectly happy with Screwfixes 'Next Day' mail order service, they also seem to go to B&Q stores as well.

Doesn't really seem to be much room for Screwfix stores! --- Oh, unless all the B&Q's suddenly go! --- :p

I would advise anybody holding any vouchers, and most particularly those for a limited type of shop, to get rid of them before they end up taking the hit for a chain that they have inadvertently become 'Banker for by 'lending' them hard earned cash
    .
  • Having received £75 Kingfisher vouchers as reward from employer (I'd asked for B&Q vouchers) like many others on here also had a shock over the weekend when I got to the till with £200 worth of sale goods only to be told I couldnt use the vouchers. The store manager advised me to spend them at Woolworths - handy as our local branch closed the day before.I have this morning spoke to B&Q's misnamed Customer Service Department who told me 'its not our fault you bought Woolworths vouchers and have advised 'if you have a problem you can always phone trading standards'Snotty letter to head office on the way!
  • Hi

My local Comet store in Kirkcaldy has refused to take £100 of paper vouchers. These vouchers are not kingfisher vouchers and the terms and conditions on the reverse say they can only be re-deemend in a Comet store. I've phoned the Comet customer services dept who say that as Kingfisher has gone bust they have been told to refuse all paper vouchers, they will only accept comet gift cards.

I think the store will back-track when I go and see them but for anyone else I suggest cashing in those vouchers now before it all gets very messy.
  • If Euan Sutherland (CEO B&Q) doesnt reply try Kingfisher Group Chief Executive:Mr Ian CheshireGroup Chief ExecutiveKingfisher plc3 Sheldon SquarePaddingtonLondonW2 6PXYou would have thought in these tough trading times B&Q would be falling overthemselves to keep loyal customers.
  • I have also tried to spend vouchers that I earned from the "Shell Drivers Club" at Comet, they gave me a number for Kingfisher 0800 146500, wonder why no one is answering!
  • After being sent round the houses yesterday by B&Q, Woolworths and Kingfisher group finally got to speak to someone in Kingfisher group voucher department. They advised that they are waiting a formal decission, hopefully next week on what the process will be for claiming for Kingfisher Vouchers. I finally got a recorded message on the 0800 146 500 number telling me that they expected the company to go into liquidation shortly and that any further details would be posted in the National Press.Seems Kingfisher Group have washed their hands of the problem and expect customers to fend for themselves.

I've phoned B&Q to complain and they've just turned me down point blank. So I started reading into the law regarding vouchers. You may find this site interesting: http://www.consumeraffairs.govt.nz/consumerinfo/giftvouchers.html

This link is a New Zealand based site? It has no standing in the UK!
A bargain is only a bargain if you intended on buying it in the first place!!!

Would you post to let us know how you got on with trying to redeem your vouchers as I have just ordered £200 of comet vouchers.
