Thanatos has done a fantastic job of providing information and reassurance for people claiming DLA. Unfortunately, owing to personal commitments, he isn't able to answer any more questions for the time being.
However, I have noticed that people are still posting their queries.
I am NOT a DLA Adviser, but I do have a lot of experience with DLA claims, both for myself and with helping other people to claim. I am sure there must be other people on this board with similar experience.
So I wondered, since there is so obviously a need, if people post their DLA questions here, perhaps those of us with experience of DLA could do what we can to help. This would keep all DLA queries together and 'hold the fort'.
What do you think?

I think thats a brilliant idea daisy, altho u prob get inudated now lol.
Every genuine one of us that applies for DLA needs all the help we can get, there are so many people out there that have abused the system, and that makes it harder for us to get a claim accepted.
Hope u have plenty of time and patience for us all lol

Hi all
i am about to start the long process of completing the dla application form for my daughter. SHe has been previously diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder, and at the moment, school are about to make a referral to CAMHS re possible Aspergers.
To help with this, i am thinking of joining the benefits and work website - has anyone any experience of this, as it costs £20 to join, and i dont want to waste money when it is really tight at the moment.
From looking at the criteria which has been previously posted, i think she may qualify for low care/ low mobility, but not really sure on how to word it properly. As i have my own health issues, going to the CAB is really difficult, so i am going to try and fill it in the best i can - but then if i need to go to appeal, to get more help then. Probably seems a daft way of doing it, but i need to get the ball rolling!!
Does anyone know of any other (pref free) sites which may be able to help me decribe her needs - particularly her problems with communication and concentration - ie processing skills.0
