And Gary Glitter. As they were flying back here from Thailand, he tried to commit suicide and jumped out of the plane. Unfortunately the coast guard found him in the North Sea, bobbing up and down on a small buoy. :D
:T Thanks! Am sending that to my Indo brother, Glitter jokes still all the rage out there!

So ami/st, it's a LONG time ago, but what were your icesave stories? I only remember that you got your "compensation" quickly and I wasn't behind. Before that, I started to worry the weekend before "black weekend" but was reassured by a "Money Box" prog in which an icesave director assured MrMoney Box that everything was fine and dandy. But the time I realised this was utter shiite (on Sat Oct 10) and tried to gran my money, it was too late. Although it looked as if it had worked, I had the agonising few days when my account read zero but I knew the BACS would not have completed before the Monday Freeze!
My amount - just £3.5k BUT needed it before xmas to pay a tax bill

Be honest has Martin or MSE Dan just sent you a privo! ;):D

but it was a worrying time and s**** had total 12.5k and to me that is a lot -had resigned to have lost as was not covered only by the passport scheme but I was ready to fight and protest with iceland to recover it then McBroon was a saviour and really I am very grateful to him even though i will still not vote for him ,but after that was quite relaxed but then no 2nd e-mail for what seemed like ages -history and never again non reg banks.
