  • But to close the account Halifax would have to have refunded something to close the account as it was in a negative balance, is that right?

    thinking back now ye they did does they make a difference i think it was only something like one or two charges overdrawn

    Ok, I agree with halifax re hardship because the account is closed. However, they have acknowledged the claim. Financial Hardship claims are specific to accounts that are live now. Previous closed accounts would not have the same issues as they are not the account that you use TODAY. Had it been the case then yes 100% i would take it further.

    yes, 100% and the statute of limitations ie 6 years does not kick in as that is part(or rather have a negative effect on the claim) of the FSA Waiver on Bank Charges.

    hi i made a claim with halifax under financial hardship they av put my case on hold cos the account is closed i have now asked the fos to look into it for me has anyone every won there case by doing it this way

    I would surprised if they overturned the original decision but would be interested nonetheless in what they say. Good luck.

    when i phoned the fos and tell them wat had happened they said it does nt make a differnce whether the account is closed or not as long as i can prove i was in hardship when the charges where made is this right
