halifax are useless

can anyone pls help me and tell me what to do i made a claim for my bank charges in august 2007 in may this year i telephoned to see what was happening and they told me i never made a claim even tho i had the letter right in front of me but they dint care about that to cut a long story short and loads of telephone conversations i had to make a new claim which i did in june this year then in july i became a single parent and i believe i fit into the financial hardship i wrote to halifax never even got a reply telephoned 8 times to date and they tell me same everytime there is no such thing as financial hardship and iv just gotta wait for the test case results so 4 weeks ago i sent a e mail to the fsa making a complaint about halifax and asked them if they can look into it for me but they ant replied either can anyone pls give me some advise its doing my haed in and i dont know wat else to do :mad:

    Okay I think you need to go to the FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service) but we can also rewrite to Halifax - did you complete an income expenditure form with your application for hardship ?

    Have you a copy of the letter you sent to them, and the original one in august 2007. We'll try write a stronger one with the IE and get them to look at you on hardship grounds.

    Sounds like they are just fobbing you off at the moment. You did do the right thing complaining to the FSA - however they wont deal with individual cases and we have to use FOS for that.

    thanks for your help gonna get in touch wi fso they never sent me a i and e form they just car nt be bothered sent 12 letters in total now i feel like giving up

    :mad: i am at the end of my tether with halifax bank three times iv made a claim now for my bank charges the last was in august this year under financial hardship they just fob me off everytime they say there is no such thing as financial hardship i just dont know wat else to do please helpppppppppppp

    Someone kindly sent me this known as the FSA Waiver, click the link and print and send it to the bank telling them that there is such thing (So they know they cannot 'fob' you off as you know what you are talking about!!)

    Highlight Annex 2 on page 11 and see how you get on with that!! Let me know how it goes and if it helps!!

    does anyone know the direct telephone for halifax so i can speak to someone about my bank charges just rung the 08457 20 30 40 and bin on hold for fourty mins and still never got to speak to anyone

    After getting the automated service just keep hitting zero, it doesn't always work but I've had good luck with it on several automated numbers.
