  • I was contacted a few days ago by a company of solicitors who reckon that many credit card agreements, specially older ones, are legally flawed, and of course, for a percentage, say that they can possibly get the balance written off, anyone heard of this? apparently it was on Paorama a few weeks ago
  • I was contacted this week by a firm of solicitors who reckon that most older credit card agreements are flawed legally, and, for a small fee of course, can make a claim on my behalf, possibly getting the whole balance written off, sounds too good to be true to me, apparently it was on Panorama a couple of weeks ago, anyone heard anything about this?

    Yes, it's a scam.

If it sounds too good to be true ...etc ;)

Hey yea it I saw it on Panaroma a couple of weeks ago. A couple managed to write off £100k of their debts but they actually owe pretty much the same amount in legal fees so it wasn't worth it in their case...

The solicitors could well be able do what they say they can do for you but if they sprung up from nowhere, I would be very suspicious. Also, you could be in trouble for purposely looking for loopholes on the agreement to write off the balance.

I would do a great deal of research about this if I were you. I'm sure other people on here would be able to advice as well! :)

Is it just me, or is there something fishy about the frequency with which newbie members pitch up here and post almost identical "is it a scam?" questions?
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

I hadn't noticed specially but come to think of it - it is a bit fishy! Sparkiedave had posted this thread twice...

Sparkiedave may well have just accidentally double posted. Its not direct spam as there are no links. It could well be a genuine question, I just think its odd that there have been so many very similar sounding questions.
