I've never used this site before but we have had such a nightmre I feel I really should put our story out there. We were supposed to connect with talktalk broadband on 19 Feb, so far we have had roughly 8 hours internet connection.

Myself and my housemates have contacted TalkTalk numerous times regarding the issues and we are put on hold, transferred or told that there is an outage in the area and our service will be resumed within 4 hours - which has never happened. After a month of these empty promises we tried to cancel the service.

I was put through to the cancellations department and encountered what can only be described as the rudest telephone operator ever. She shouted, talked over the top of me and ignored everything I had to say. When i complained about the service I was told that the outage in the area was actually due to a fault in the exchange and no one in the area had service whether they were with talktalk or BT (except all our neighbours did). I was so angered by this lie I contacted a family friend at BT who confirmed that there was no issue with the exchange and what i had just been told was completely fabricated.

We have stopped paying the bills and have written to talkTalk numerous times and can still see no way that this issue is to be resolved given that they are denying any fault.

All I can say is for a few pounds a month, save yourself the bother and stick with BT.

Very long story but am at my wits end. Have already taken Talk Talk to Otelo and won Ref 297307. I then spoke to your CEO Office on a very regular basis. Out of respect I won't put her name on this website yet, as I want to give her one more chance to resolve my final bill. Yes I have moved away from Talk Talk but am still being tortured by them.

I am about to go to Otelo again but really wanted Talk Talk to show they have imporoved (I was assured I had been treated appallingly and they would resolve this by sorting my final bill out the day after I moved my service), but I am still awaiting a call, and I have phoned over 15 times and left messages.

I do have lots of phones numbers for your CEO's office and my angry side wants to post them for everyone else, but I am restraining myself, so please contact me, as I am getting debt letters from your collection agency.

Do not tell me to post on your forum site as you have done with everyone else, as I have sent many letters and phone calls with Talk Talk.

I'm extremely annoyed and frustrated as you can gather. If this had been a marriage I could have divorced you on the grounds of mental abuse.

I am glad I am not the only one (although my regular moans on FB about this company have shown that lots of people have had similar problems).

I have now been without a phone line (and thus internet connection) for 10 days. To say that I am disgusted with this company is an understatement. We have made daily calls to them and are constantly told the same thing....... diagnostic tests need to be completed. Well, we have done these tests three times so surely anyone in their right mind would get that there is a problem outside of my property. My husband is an engineer and has tested the outside line - there is no incoming connection so why are TT customer services not getting it. I was called on Tuesday to do a diagnostic test, not being at home I was unable to complete this (for the 4th time) and their response is an engineer will call in 24-48 hours - not good enough!

I (as most of us) rely on my phone - I am a listed contact on my Grandmothers life line (a call button pressed in an emergency) and I also work from home so require the internet. I am now having to use annual leave to cover the days that I have to be home based but cannot work.

Simple tasks such as diverting the phone do not even come easily. After three attempts (over 4 days) they finally managed to divert my land line to a mobile but where I live we do not get fantastic reception so not much help really!

Their customer service is a disgrace, they don't quite understand what you are explaining and obvioulsy read of a script as their responses tend not to correlate to my questions! This really is the worst company I have ever had to deal with.

Rant over....... feeling a tad calmer now! MSE was my last resort as they have made it very difficult to find out where/who to complain to and their customer service operators are not interested with complaints!

  • After months of TalkTalk's unusable services that have still not been repaired although they have been aware of it through-out and after months of terrible customer services/Bad attitudes and after months of stress/time-wasting, I have finally had enough. I no longer want to speak to TalkTalk as they are clearly only interested in signing you to a contract then fobbing you off with excuse after excuse should something go wrong.

I have been in-touch with BBC Watchdog, who have phoned me back.
I have set up a E-mail address for anybody in the U.K to send their stories too.
I require NO personal information, just a description of your problem which I will then forward to Watchdog and finally expose TalkTalk for what they are, the worst communications company in the the U.K by far, possibly the World!

If you would like to participate in my hunt for justice, please E-Mail me any information you have about your experiences.
Should you want me to take your case forward to Watchdog then please include your TalkTalk account number/name within the E-Mail. BBC Watchdog require this to take your case forward.
We already have over 200 cases (within 4 days) and would like to reach the 1,000 mark as this would trigger a unavoidable solution, resulting in compensation in some cases.

You can E-mail me at talktalkcomplaints@hotmail.co.uk
Again no personal information is required should you not want to provide it, just your experiences.

Hopefully TakTalk will then be forced to fix our issues.

I have read everyones story/comments on this thread, and I am really shocked on the amount of problems people have have experience with TalkTalk.

There seems to be a commen feeling concerning TalkTalk telephone customer Services.

I notice the staff from TalkTalk on this forum are urging some moneysavers to register with the talktalk members website, anyone know why these staff cant simply deal with the problems preseted to them on this site? If it is to do with security or DPA, there is a facility on here to send Private messages.

I really feel sorry for some of you guys. Yes I am also TalkTalk customer, and like many, I also have my gripes with this company.

If talktalk have been given the opportunity to address problems, either on the telephone or online and have failed to do so,, maybe forwarding experiences to Petitiontime below might be the answer.

The public really needs to know there are real issues with this company, and many of them seem to duplicate themselves.

I am also looking at bad customer service from all telephone/internet providers on http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1735939

Please feel free to add your vote, and or comments
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!
  • TalkTalk have had at least 20 phone calls and 5 E-mail complaints from me to figure out my problem, it's like an automated service with the same answers to my questions every time. None of which help.
My mother recently signed up-to O2 broadband on my recomendation, everything was fine and then the broadband was cutting out 10 times a day. Within 5 days O2 sent out a new router, sent a line technician and constantly phoned my mother up with updates. All-in-all it took O2 6 days to nail the problem with excellent results and not costing my mother a single penny, that is excellent customer services!
Yet TT have had 3 months to sort out my problem and not once have they offered a replacement router, they told me line technician would arrive who never did and since then I am going round in big circles being passed from one department to another, I was once on the phone for almost 2 hours being redirected to "a department that dealt with the problem", needless to say they didn't.
Then I came across hundreds of unfortunate people with the same problem as me and contacted BBC Watchdog, hence the reason I posted my other post 2 above. So please forward all your issues to me (E-mail 2 posts above).
I now have over 320 E-mails and want to try get 1,000 before taking action for legal reasons.
Thanks everybody for all the E-mails received in the past few days, I am determined to get a result for us all here!!

Sorry for the delay. I logged into my TT account and there is an option somewhere to submit question/complaints. There was no actual E-Mail address just a link for queries.
