Another Diannette user here. I had a 'period' around 5 weekd into pregnancy and spotting at around 9 weeks.

Like the others have stated, you cannot get a false positive.

All the best, hope the outcome is what you wanted.

PS: Due to whats in Dianette its always worth coming off Dianette for a good couple of years x

I had a pregnancy where the tests I took were very faint positives: they were definitely positive but nowhere near as strong a line as before. At 6 weeks or so I miscarried: it didn't hurt and was pretty much like a period so it could be that .. unless it's the Diannette....

  • Don't mean to sound silly but if I was having a miscarriage wouldn't I Know??? I mean wouldn't I be in pain????

It is quite a heavy period I'm having at the moment so no spotting.

The two tests were from the same box so maybe void????

I have bought a digital pregnancy test for after my period so it will give me a yes or no answer and stop the confusion.

Unlikely you'd have pain if it was an early missed miscarriage.
If the bleeding is heavy there's a good chance you are miscarrying - get yourself a docs appointment and perhaps they will be able to get you in for a scan x

If I were you I'd do the digital test now x

Remember that the pregnancy hormone could stay in your system for several weeks after a miscarriage... So you could still get a positive after another few weeks...
Remember some women have periods all through the pregnancy (this is how people don't realise they are pregnant until they go into labour sometimes!) so this could be either or... one way or another you WERE pregnant or the line wouldn't have come up.

  • I went to the doctors and she did a test which came back negative.

She couldn't tell me if I had miscarried or not and was pretty useless so I'm none the wiser all I know is that if I was pregnant I'm not now!!

Hi, didn't want to read and run.

It sounds like a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage, I'm afraid. You had enough HCG to be picked up on the test(s), but then got your period, and now there's not enough hormone to be detected.

I had one just over a month back, but am ok now - you may find your cycle is a bit weird for a month or two following. Here's a link that mightbe helpful:

Oh, and if you're trying to conceive, come and join the TTC thread!

Fake "postives" are possible as sometimes there can be a shadow along where the line is which can look like a ery faint positive. If you're looking hard enough then it can look enough like a postive even though in reality it's not. I know of a particular test which does this which can be very confusing/upsetting. After about 10 mintues, this actually forms an actual line which can make things even worse.

    Hope you're okay.
