Hi. Thanks for your well wishes re. my disappointment with the rejection letter. It was nice to hear from somebody who fully sympathises with my plight. I had my interview in Liverpool two weeks ago, and of course there were many other applicants there too. As I am sure you know, it is really difficult trying not to let rejection get you down too much, especially when you are as desperate for a job as I am. I did give my all at the interview, but obviously something let me down somewhere.

Anyway, I have requested feedback, so that should highlight exactly why I was turned down.

Thanks again for your well wishes, and the best of luck in your future career.

I'm really sorry to hear that. :( Did you have your interview on the 31st and 10:45 like me? I am shocked i got it as that was my first ever formal interview. I guess i was just lucky. I have spoken to lots and lots of people who have said they went for two or more interviews before they finally were successful. I was preparing to have to apply again. You have passed the lit and numeracy tests so that makes any future applications a bit easier anyway. Try not to feel too down, you know what it is like now, so have a much better chance next time.

Got mine this morning as well :j there is no mention of a waiting list - is there on your letter? Can't find the info on this vacancy, is it for 12 or 18 month temporary contract?

Hi Tarja. Thanks for your well wishes. The jobs I have been applying for have all been for AO positions. They were doing interviews in Liverpool for these posts over a few days, so obviously had a big response.

Anyway, despite this disappointing rejection, will keep trying, and hope that next time I will have better luck.

    Thanks again.

Really Sorry to hear this Truegho.

Are these all AO jobs or are you trying for EO's and HEO's.

This may have been bad luck at the interview, esp cos you KNOW you can get placed.

Remember the saying 'no matter how much you shake a bottle of milk the cream eventually finds its way to the top'. Next attempt Truegho :) Keep aiming high!

Thanks, Tarja ! Was just about giving up hope with DWP. I had unsuccessful letters for the EO positions, so just tried the AO interview for luck !!!:j

    Well done!

No mention of waiting list on mine, just said we will contact you once the checks have been completed, some info on National Insurance, change of details and then says we look forward to working with you.

I'm quite sure the advert said it was an 18 month contract with view to permanent.

Don't give up, Truegho. I had 3 interviews with DWP before getting the successful letter. I was unsuccessful for the EO interview, which I though went a lot better than the AO interview - so you just don't know what happens on the day !

I have applied for the EO position in West Yorkshire, but not heard back with a view to interview or on line test as yet.

I know it is very soul destroying - I have been out of work since Feb due to redundancy and have spent every day scouring for vacancies on sites, ringing companies, sending out cvs to companies just on the off chance, and it is so demoralizing to hardly ever get a response.

Keep you chin up and don't give up. ;)
