For guys who applied to EO and AO position, and wishing to complain:

I was in same situation as some of you guys but find it bit pointless to complain. I applied for EO position and AO position. I passed the test for EO (which by the way also received email saying didn't need to do the AO test as they'll use that score, but was still invited to do the test lol). I attended interview for EO and was successful. I never heared anything for the AO position till last week when I received letter saying I wasn't successful for the AO (dont know how lol). Few factors you have to consider:

    1) I think they're doing it one interview per person, to stick with their 'fair recruitment policy'.
    2) Though you may have been successful at the online interview test, your application may not have been suitable for the person checking your application (e.g. personal statement, or the response you probably gave at the quiz of end of application).

Finally, be happy you got interview for the EO position, it's better position than AO in terms of more responsibility and pay. If you can ace the EO interview, consider yourself lucky.

If you haven't heared anything for the AO position by now (but have with the EO position), then you most likely didn't get the position, I could be wrong though.

Best of luck to everyone having interviews still.

    Hi

I have an interview this Friday, and the e-mail from Capita states I must prepare for the following competencies:-

    Managing People & Performance

    Delivering a Professional Service

    Building Capability

    Delivering a Customer Focused Service

I have info relating to all these competencies from DWP and this website, but can't find the 'Delivering a Professional Service' info sheet !

    Can anyone help, please

I had an interview last Monday in Cobalt and not heard anything as of yet.

However the woman said they were recruiting for intake in September so how someone who applied in March hasn't been given a start date yet is a bit weird.

Jessbob - They're all competency based questions about giving excellent customer service and taking risks. I even used MSE for one of my answers!

Or maybe they want you as an EO and not an AO??
Im not meaning to sound rude but complaining even before you have had an interview - do you think that will not look bad?
I highly doubt they may have discriminated against you, given you got an interview for the HIGHER level job.

and what happens if he doesn't get the EO position? Then he has no chance to try for the AO spot... He's not saying they have discriminated upon him, more that the recruitment process has failed somewhere. Interviews for the AO have already been held - if he leaves his enquiry till after he finds out about the EO spot then chances are all the AO jobs will be filled.

Firstly, I've not said anything about discrimination. I won't be, either, as there is no evidence to support discrimination. Further, I haven't lodged the complaint yet, and won't until after my EO interview. I've written it just to get it all off my mind so I can concentrate on the interview tomorrow.

I won't go into details, as that is not appropriate here, however I do have a strong case with regards my AO application. Not granting me an interview means they are not complying with the Civil Service Commissioners' Recruitment Code. This is something they are obliged to comply with. I know that others were granted interviews for both positions.

The EO position is the one I want, don't get me wrong.

I am wondering why there does not seem to be any Liverpool job applicants here who have had interviews for AO posts in May 2009, but did not get their result letters and are still waiting, ten weeks later, in mental agony wondering what has happened with their application!

Can you apply for another post, if you haven`t had the result from a previous one?

I had an interview a week ago, but notice that there is now 2 more post going in my area now.

One is part time and evening 4.45pm til 8.45pm!

So looks like Job Centers are going to be open as much as supermarkets soon.

[My first post, I've been stalking these boards since 26 June !!!!:j

Hi. I am a newbie. Awaiting IRC60076 Birmingham. ANyhow. It seems everyone was asked to do just 3 compentacies. I was asked to do 4 via voive mail including Delivering a proffessional service! I wonder what exactly I was interviewd for, AO, EO or something inbetween:confused:. What were you told?

Anyhow, I found that if you go to the dwp website: how to apply-knowledge, skills and proffessional competencies-Professional competencies from 6 April 2009

Go to the one that best describes the role you applies for ( I chose Business admin, contact centre and operational delivery level 1. You will find a table of some sort, the first column deals with Delivering a proffessional service. It's almost the same in all sections anyhow so you could just look at the business admin one and be safe.

As for the interview, I think professionalism competencies are picked out as they interview you for the others. So just make sure when giving responses on the other 3 competencies you incorporate bullet points from Delivering a proffessional service.

    hope that helps!!!!

Here's the link for the professional competencies. I realise you'd already posted where to find it, but figured you couldn't post links cos you're a newbie:
    http://www.dwp.gov.uk/about-dwp/working-for-dwp/how-to-apply/knowledge-skills/

Also, I am also waiting on the same vacancy as you. Did you only get asked 3 questions? I was asked 4.
