The letter I received telling me I was successful pending checks is dated 26th April. Still waiting.......

I phoned the Job Centre Plus Service team, and the person on the other end told me that the checks can take minimum of 5 weeks! and then once that's complete, it could take an additional of around 4-6 weeks, or basically once a position becomes vacant, they'll phone you. I received successful letter dated 27th June, so there's long wait for me  but I really want to start ASAP.

In all, it seems the process does take 12 weeks, so maybe you shall be hearing something soon now :j

Regarding the interview process, did anyone just a call and got told you passed the online stage so now you have an interview at a specific place and it'll be done by Manpower? I got told the areas where I'd likely to be asked questions in but looking at past posts here it seems they send you certain forms to fill in but I asked about that to the lady on the phone and she said everything is done on the day. Is this the norm now?
  • Hi everyone, I have recently applied for the position of AO for DWP and got a voicemail today from Manpower asking to arrange an assessment at a hotel...I was wondering if anyone has experience of this and if you could give me any tips regaridng the interview....thank you!! I have just graduated and have applied for nearly 50 jobs...i really hope this works out for me :o

When I went to an interview back in April which DWP themseleves did, I got a letter with forms in to complete and take with me.

My interview this week was d/w by Capita and I filled in more forms on the day, they were the same forms plus a pension and a crb check. Looks like they get you to fill it all in there to see how you are filling in forms,so they can check them and if you do pass at interview they can then send the forms straight off.

I was told that they are trying to speed the whole process up as they know it was taking too long before.

    Are you claiming JSA?

If you can get manpower to email you details of the interview or send you a letter, you can claim help for the cost of getting to an interview.
Ring your local job center and ask. You can also claim for a suit if you need one and a travel card when you 1st start work.
