I got an email last Friday from DWP asking my for information I had not put on my CRB form for IRC 62979. I emailed back straight away and gave the information which they requested and they then replied and gave thanks for the speedy response and said that my CRB form would be sent off that day.
I then expected a letter Saturday, but no. So I then thought Monday it would come but still I did not receive it.
I then called them and was told by a woman that the letters were being sent that day! Only I still haven't got mine!!!
My friend (who works for DWP) told me to assume I was successful as they do not send off CRB forms if you are not.
Still I would like the letter for confirmation! I'm stressing out!!!
Good luck everybody! xx0 -
I just got a call telling me that I've been successful for 62979! I had the interview on the 9th Nov so i wasn't expecting such a quick response but she told they're trying to speed things up now. She asked me where i want to work and that after my crb come back i should get a start date. I'm so happy, goodluck to everyone else! Xx0

Hi
Called DWP just now.The lady was taking a long time and told me that the system was slow. She said she will find out and call back. She called me back within two minutes and said that a letter was issued. She asked me not to call for a couple of days and wait as the letter was isssued.
By the looks of it feel like I am in the failed pile too.I think it is much harder for people to tell that you failed on the phone.....coz ppl have been receiving calls too..So I am worried now......0 -

Oh no! Well don't give up hope. Even if you haven't got an immediate position you could still be on the waiting list. I know how you feel though because they are clearly not being honest and it does make you feel suspicious. Some people have been told by letter though, and some by phone so it's all very inconsistent so maybe there are still successful letters going out. Only a couple more days until we are put out of our misery. Fingers crossed for you0 -

Congratulations by the way! You must be over the moon
Thanks!
One of my references called me today saying DWP had sent them an email asking for a reference, so it looks as things are moving along quickly.
Hopefully, I am not waiting long. I have read that some people have waited 6 - 12 months to be posted to a centre.
I thinkI will give them a call tomorrow morning to find out what happens after the pre-employment checks are done.
Good luck to those who are still awaiting their reply from DWP.0 -
it is indeed a strange scenario, i spoke to the girl today whom this particular job is her 'exercise'.
Have to admit she was very abrupt and was adamant no letters had been sent, but she was not that convincing, she did say they had franking machine problems and some letters got 'chewed' up and have to be resent.....
I then spoke to a different guy as i like to gather facts to be comparative, i mentioned a few cases that people had received news via call and post.
He found my details and did confirm, 'well' he said i had nothing to worry about, i pushed him for my position on the merit list and asked him if i was in the top ten, to compare with the other info i was given previously....he slightly slipped up and started to say yes you are in the top....and said 5. I made a joke and he admitted i caught him out.
I did thank him for his honesty and he said that if i call once i get my letter he will give me my exact position, the score for the interviews and the interview feedback. I asked for this as it would hold me in good sted for a few EO roles i have been 'sifted' for.
My fingers crossed for all!!!0 -

Is this Manpower that we are speaking to on the phone? As I am feeling apprehensive now about working for a Government Department that give out different information! I hope this is not due to the incompetence of dwp. Perhaps they should think about who they are hiring to do their work for them as Manpower clearly lack ability.
When I spoke to someone on Monday, I was told letters were being sent out that day!
Now someone has received a letter, someone has received a call and there are probably many more out there who are unaware of this thread who have received news!0 -
Something else i forgot to mention, they are seeking about 635 across the London regions, hence the late interviews last week etc.
They want about 300+ immediatley CRB checked.
I would say everyones odds of passing are good!...except possibly a wait?0 -
I take it this may be the job I am awaiting to hear from too.
I see that many of you know your irc number, so you can all reference which vacancy you are speaking of.
I think I need to go and have a look on the letters I was given after the interview so I know which vacancy I am awaiting on.0
