Congratulations Sportycus! Wow, you really must have impressed them. It's quite uplifting to hear some good news. So do you think if i call them they would tell me if i've been successfull, or do you think the person you spoke to just made an exception for you?
I don't think i can bare waiting 4 weeks for news.

I would give them a call, just posted the number i called, in my post above....you have nothing to lose.

They other guy did say that they would give results over the phone, if the letters had gone out, but not before. It really is a case of being lucky who you talk to.

I did also hear that they was still conducting interviews for the role...yesterday?....

Did you apply for IRC 62995 London?

    Have to be honest, applied for a few...so far;

    IRC 62979
    IRC 63183
    IRC 63908
    IRC 64178
    IRC 64221
    IRC 64225

    What location was 62995?

And, what time was your tests on the 23rd at WHU....just curious if you was one of those 5 or 6 who took the tests and interviews the same time.

I recall my tests were at 12.30...i think?

It was London, no districts were mentioned.
8.30,I guess the first one in the morning.
You did apply for quite a few.

I know, a mix of EO and AO roles.

My logic is to get 'in' then, move up.

Hence applying for the AO roles, really seeking an EO role.

Its the best logic. It gives you an insight into what the AO's do and therefore improve your performance as an EO

Why o why are the Dwp still recruiting when they have a freeze on and dont know when its going to end, seems stupid to me.

    Hi Dm,

I telephoned last week and was told that we should be receiving letters within 2 weeks. Today I looked on the job centre website for a job and surprise surprise........they are advertising again for people at the jobs we have applied for,..ie southend, harlow, brentwood and maybe rayleigh and canvey! I was really cross and phoned to find out why they are readvertising for positions that we are waiting to fill only to be told that the new job advert was for the expected vacancies early next year. How frustrating is this!...lol...Have you heard anything yet?

    Spangles :o)
  • Anyone heard anything in writing yet for 62979?

I did have to call them to give a change of address and luckily spoke to same guy as before, it turns out when i rang originally he should not of given me all the info he did.

They have been carrying out 'mock' tests last week for those unable to attend the original ones, he had been unaware of this, i am still the same number in the list, and i emailed CRB and mine is currently being 'vetted' or with the 'vetting' team at this time.

Good news to all is that he told me all letters should be recieved this week.

Fingers crossed for all those waiting!!!!
  • Hi Sportycus,

I'm new on here, and I applied for IRC62979 too. I've been following what you've been saying, and I tried calling them today but they still can't tell me anything. So annoying! Lol.

I just wondered if you could let me know the email address you used for the CRB please? It would be good to know if they have contacted them about me at least... the suspense is killing me!

    Thank you!
  • I have been following posts for the past few weeks.

I received my letter today from dwp. IRC62979 and I was successful!

It says they are now conducting pre-employment checks and that if they are approved, I will be contacted shortly with a start date!

I think I might need to give them a call however, from the looks of many posts on here there is a waiting list that could last 12 months!
