I had my interview for that role on the 23rd at West Ham.

Called yesterday out of curiosity, spoke to a really nice guy, very informative.

Told me i had passed the interview, and asked if i was sitting down?

He told me, (although he said he shouldn't) i was 3rd on the list......he expanded on that by saying i was actually joint 1st, but as my surname begins with 'W' it ranks that way....this was out of a 4 figure number he told me.?

    Very pleased with that!

My CRB went away to Scotland on the 6th November.

He also said in regards to references that HMRC are assisting and as such work history checks are made simple as they enter an NI number and confirms your work history at a glance by checking your contributions etc.

So looking good, very pleased to have some positive news in run up to xmas.
Congrats!! Have been following your posts.I did feel that you would do very well. You must be very good to be 3rd amongst thousands.
I am not that confident so do not want to call, rather receive an unsuccessful letter. Let's us know when u do get the call.Looks like things will be moving fast for you

    Thanks for your kind words.

I have to admit i am taking this job as a stepping stone until i hear on a few EO roles i have applied for.

Within the past 48 hrs, i have applied for 2 seperate EO roles for locations in Essex (where i live), one north and one south Essex, would prefer south, on my doorstep for where i live.

Also waiting on a couple of EO roles in London.

    And

Just as a 'tide me over' until DWP confirm, heard today i have been offered a casual postman job in my home town starting in a couple of weeks, nice to have some pocket money for xmas!!

    What number did you call?
  • Congratulations Sportycus! Wow, you really must have impressed them. It's quite uplifting to hear some good news. So do you think if i call them they would tell me if i've been successfull, or do you think the person you spoke to just made an exception for you?
I don't think i can bare waiting 4 weeks for news.

I had my interview in London for AO IRC 62979 and received an email today from someone in dwp saying that I had not filled out my mothers maiden name on the crb form and that they request this infomration within 5 working days, otherwise they will assume I no longer require the job.

I emailed back straight away with the information they asked for and they replied saying, thank you and that they will send off my form to Disclosure Scotland today.

My friend who works for DWP said I can safely assume I have been successful as they do not send off the crb forms otherwise.

Does anybody else know if this is true?

    Thank you in advance!

They also did the disclosure and i.d. checks on the day.
I received a letter a couple of weeks later to state that they were conducting the reference checks. What should I expect next? Does this mean they will offer me a position or would they only offer a position after doing previous employer checks etc.
    Sorry for so many questions!

Congragts Mojy, am waiting myself for a start date for the same job in Glasgow, got my CRB back last week so hopefully will hear soon.

Thanks aquababe. :-( I'm really disheartened now, from what you've said and what i've read on here, this job seems like a major hassle. I'm starting to doubt whether its even worth the wait but what i don't understand is why they bother advertising and interviewing people, if they already have so many people available to hire. What an incredible waste of everyone's time!
I think it's 62979, is that the same one you applied for?

I applied for the same one ,had my interview on 23rd OCT at WHU.I would say its better to stay positive and hope for the best.Ofcourse its always good to apply elsewhere as well so there are choices, considering this being a temporary one.
They had apparently 5000 candidates to interview that is why I guess they are probably still interviewing.

    0191 2166956

He was a really nice Scottish guy if i recall, just come back from a week off sick...maybe thats why he told me??

That being said i rang the same number again yesterday to tell them about a change of address and i spoke to a different person who said he cannot give me any details....i played dumb about speaking to them previously.

I do think its a case of if you are lucky enough to speak to the 'right' person.
