I came across this site late last night, very informative.....wish i had found it sooner!

I was at West Ham FC today doing my test and competencies for the AO role.

    Have to admit really pleased with myself;

    14/15 Literacy and 19/20 Numeracy!!

About 25 took the test only 6 passed!

Funny thing is i was sat at the front overlooking players car park, just as tests finished, players came out and car park was suddenley awash with the sound of Ferrari and Aston Martins!!!

Personally cannot stand football (more a rugby man)

Then went on to do all the forms CRB etc all in a directors box with i have to say a fantastic view of the pitch etc....before competency interviews....i felt they went very well and came out pleased.

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

Good for you mate. Hope you'll have some good news soon.
Do you remember any of the questions at the interview?
  • Hi, can anyone help me, i have an interview tomorrow but i'm not sure about the address, i have been there today just to check how long it will take me to get there but wasn't sure if there was there. the postcode cr2 8ya london, was quite strange for me to go through that street.

Just found this thread today. Wondering if anyone has heard from the interviews that took place in the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow on 1 Oct. This was for the extended hours pilot in Glasgow which are due to start 9th November. I did the lit/num tests, got the results and straight into interview after that. They also did the disclosure and i.d. checks on the day.
I received a letter a couple of weeks later to state that they were conducting the reference checks. What should I expect next? Does this mean they will offer me a position or would they only offer a position after doing previous employer checks etc.
    Sorry for so many questions!
  • Hey guys, went for the interview on the 7th oct for the London EO positions, got a letter saying i've been successful (phewwwwww) and they're doing the pre-recruitment checks and stuff. anyone know how long it takes now?

    Hi,

Firstly, well done - thats the first part done. You might want to look at
(can't post the link soz - think its because I am a new users)
but its another thread on here - about 324 pages - should be on the list - called 'DWP employment waiting list '
Its a long thread but it will fill you in on some of the working practises of the DWP - its not all pleasant reading but its honest and heart felt.

Added - go up 6 posts, natomar has put the link at the bottom of the reply :)

very strange. I live about 10 mins away from the west ham stadium where some of you had your tests and interview on the 23rd. On that same day, I was sent over to Paddington!! Not that I mind now, but, I was wondering if somebody could clarify something...
At the end of my interview, i was told that if i wanted a job in east london dwp, then i would have to do another interview, IN east london. But the guy from manpower told me that they had no spaces for east london. However, on the preference form i was given before my interview, i put city and east, i.e. east london as my 1st choice.....so will this make any difference???
