    Good morning all

DD's have wandered off to school - had to wake both of them up this morning and they're having trouble getting started I think.

Brekkie - DD's beans on toast, DH coffee (he can't do food in the morning) Toast for me with marmite but today the marmite tasted funny...strange.

Lunch - DH and DD's have some pasta with a HM tomato and veg sauce in a food flask, I've got left over cheesy/ham pasta from last night.

Dinner - Beef stew and dumplings.

Need to get the rubbish out in a bit - foxes have been at the bags and it's all over the drive!!! Bin men normally get here at 9.30 so will get it all rebagged - there was no meat in the bags either so no idea what the fox was after.

Today will be spent sorting DD's rooms - will give them a good clear out and dust and hoover all over, beds need stripping too.

Watched "you are what you eat" last night, DH has decided to give up coffee at work - he drinks around 5-8 small cups a day just at work - he's taken a bottle of squash to work instead...he's also mentioned bike rides every weekend.....we'll see how long that lasts!! ;)

Anyway - hope you all have a great day. Nice too see you again CQ - best of luck with the move.

  • Morning!

Today is the last day before DS's go back to school - yipeee!!! Haha! I love them to bits but sometimes all the fighting and arguing is tooooo much!

My Boots.com sale delivery just came and I'm really pleased with all the stuff in there! I'd forgotten most of the stuff I ordered! All the girl birthday's for the year sorted I think!

Today we will probably visit my mum and I need to take something back to Argos, buy a stainless steel wok and use my £5 voucher (maybe get the £9.99 slow cooker  ), we will see!

JD- Hope your DD feels better soon :grouphug:

Scuzz - hope you feel better too :grouphug:

Squiggles - totally agree with what you said about saving money etc! ;)

Hope everyone has a good day xx

    Good morning all!

Snowy: I know how you feel about your baby kitten growing up and about to lose his 'crown jewels' - I could not stop crying for days after I had one of our baby toms neutered...(the other was already neutered when we got him) but it is unfortunately really necessary (this is what I keep repeating myself, even nearly 2 years on, and still feel awful to have put him through that!).

JD, hope your DD's cold goes soon!

PP, have a nice celebration with your OH's folks, sounds like you are organising a grand thing!

Scuzz, I hope that your day improves as it goes along!

CQ, I hadn't realised that you were moving, I am not reading all the posts very attentively these days, sorry! I hope you have a good and easy move and wish you lots of happiness in your new home.

Sorry to hear so many ppl not sleeping well. I also am having problems sleeping, mainly because I am so stressed with my mother's constant criticisms, the last one last night was something about my parenting (she is really the ONE to talk - I left home at 15 to get away from her and my dad's oppressive parenting!) that left me hurt to the core. I spent hours grinding my teeth and having palpitations and stress attacks before I could get to sleep.

My son could also not sleep and asked me for a cuddle (at the tender age of 16 and a half!) so I cuddled up with him in bed and it felt like he was a little baby boy again and needed comforting, and that really calmed me down and we both felt sleepy after a while, so I moved back into my bed and managed a few hours blissful sleep before waking up this morning grinding my teeth again.

Breakfast: same as yesterday, muesli with banana and soya milk and lots of seeds
These days I never have a clue what will be lunch or dinner as I have to improvise as to what my mother wants (I was already told that the Lidl mozzarella - that we all love - is inedible, that the Marigold stock powder is disgusting, that the organic smoked salmon I got her was too dry, that the bread is 'artificial'.....).

One wash already on the clothes horse (too cold to dry outside and danger of rain) and one other in the washing machine.

Bathroom cleaning today, then keeping crocheting my giant granny square, it is now really starting looking like a proper bedcover, but it weighs a ton!

Love to all, hope you all have a good day!

    Morning all :hello:

Still suffering a bit from a head cold - also my digestion is a bit dodgy (been quite windy since yesterday afternoon - sorry if that's TMI!)

Appetite is not affected though, and lunch will be reheated HM fish pie with peas. Also got a nice (quite large) bottle of pure fresh orange juice which I bought reduced on Monday and needs drinking up by today.

Desperately want to lose a stone (or two) this New Year but am determined not to join a gym :D however the Times has a token-collect offer for five days' free use of Cannons gyms - it's a better offer than they've had in the past where the five days had to be consecutive. The Cannons nearest my work is the loveliest gym I've ever seen, especially the "aqua pool" and spa beds - so I take every possible opportunity to use it for free! The Times also published (yesterday and today) a diet plan - now I don't go in for "diet plans" as such, but will certainly keep hold of some of the recipes because they look really delicious.

Well I got a wee bit more shopping done in the sales yesterday...

Finally bought boyfriend's Christmas present :o - for various reasons (too dull and WAY too un-moneysaving to go into on this board) I haven't seen him at all over Christmas/New Year and am seeing him this evening :j If I'd bought the item in question before Christmas it would have cost me £30, but bought it yesterday for £25 :money:

Got one more pair of decent shoes for work in the Dune sale, and a cheapie top and pair of casual trousers in the Next sale. So I don't need any more shoes this season. HOWEVER there is some cash left in the budget, even after I shaved quite a good amount off the original kitty to boost my savings - so if I find a good enough bargain I might go for one more pair - the thing my smart shoe wardrobe really lacks is anything with a slightly chunkier heel, i.e. a pair of shoes that lasts more than 2 minutes without me having to pay for new heel caps  The one thing I still genuinely NEED is a new all-purpose, medium-sized leather shoulder bag in a practical colour. WHY does nobody seem to sell such a basic thing!?? They all seem to be either too small, made of poor quality fabric, covered in buckles/ sequins/ applique/ embroidery etc etc etc, or (most commonly) have straps that are not long enough/too long (I like a bag that hangs just under my arm, so I can keep it secure when travelling around London). I think I might have to check out ebay and, if all else fails (shhhh) buy something that isn't a clearance bargain  but I'm going to have a jolly good look EVERYWHERE before I resort to such a measure!

P-P - glad to hear your daughter's over her bug. My boss was looking like death yesterday and isn't in yet this morning cos she's gone to the doctor's so I hope she's off sick for the rest of the week sorry did I say that out loud?

C-Q - glad your move seems to be going well!

Edit: Caterina ((((hugs)))) that your mum is being so high-maintenance!

Sorry if there's anybody I've missed out...

    See you later!

    Rzl xx

I *really* need to do some serious cleaning up today - the In laws are coming at the weekend, so I need to attack the dust with a vengeance.
Fish pie for us too tonight; last time we had it (about 9 months ago) I was ill for days from eating the warmed up leftovers, so I can only just face making it again! Make sure it's scalding hot Bargain Rzl (I'm sure I don't need to tell you that!)
It's cardboard recycling day today. I had about half a bag full to go out & noticed that most of the neighbours had 2 or 3 bags full. They all seem to be full of pizza boxes, ready meal boxes and other junk/processed food wrappings. Scary!

Still up in arms at dp nnot sure how much longer I can take his snidey comments and lazyness, had a huge argument the other day and told him to get out, but he refused  I really think My life would be easier if he went, but I'll give it a few more weeks and see if he gets any better, we,ve been togeter 6 years, but I have grown up a lot since I was 17, which makes things harder.
have put the recycling box out plus a binbag of wrapping paper and extra box of bottles from the xmas feasting.
need to go shopping today for some essentials and am going to try out my easio.
Did chilli con carne in the sc yesturday for the 1st time and it was yummy, so will be doing again on a regular basis.
dp grabbed a free top of the range computer chair so I am sat here in totak comfort, he was working on a car and the next door neighbour offered it to him, or it was going to the tip, it looks brand new goes up down round and round back and fourth the kids had great fun playing on it last night.
Just a genral tidy round today
