Its took hours to catch up on here....DS is back to school tomorrow, he is at my mum and dads at the mo. DH is asleep on the sofa at the mo in the other room. He came home from work full of cold, ate his tea and then felt lightheaded so went to sleep.
Having a last few quiet moments before ds returns.
Hope that everyone has had a lovely christmas and that we all settle well into the new year. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
Late post today!
Floors washed and thats about it!
Off to Tescos soon. I have tried for 2 days - and gave up before I even made it to the car park yesterday. Monday the car park was so full, I witnessed a man attacking this woman because he claimed she "stole" his parking spot (!!!!!!???) I came home - lifes too short to get that upset about a parking spot and Tescos!!! (Tescos Security Staff are quick though). So doing Tescos soon once the kids in bed and the roads are empty! Not that I need much!
Been booking my hols! Using the Clubcard vouchers (Not doing Disneyland now because of Passport Problems for DD1), so we are doing a Caravan at Haven for the May/June half term, a weekend in Paris for OH and I, and a week camping at another Haven site in July Hols. Thanks Mr T!
Catrina - I have mother problems too! She moans about everything, about the way I should be doing things and what a bad Mum I am. this is from a woman who should have won worst mother of the year award. So this year, I intend to tell her nothing about whats really going on at home and agreeing with her and being smooth! (like the cheese comment!)
Lastly, seeing the Docs in the morning. I am vastly overweight. I joke about it, but I need to lose about 6 stone. But as I am 6ft tall, is not really that horrific! Although when I sit down, it all gathers round my middle! So off to do the Cholestoral and blood pressure bits and bobs tomorrow before I Keel over from a stroke. Mind you, I have lost 1 stone already by OSing my meals!
Have fun with whats left of the day - and hope you sleep better!0 -

Kylie wrote:Hi joannasmum,
I am wondering how you can spend only £150 per month on groceries? My partner and I seem to spend so much more than that and its only us!
Do you set meal plans or only buy things on special?
I used to be able to buy in bulk a little more, freeze left-overs etc etc, but now we are living in a house with only a half size fridge and the freezer wouldn't even fit my cat (I have not tried this).
I am at a loss...
Hi Kylie
Sorry about taking so long to reply only just been able to get on the site. My budget wasnt always so good this time last year it was proberly triple thatoverspending has got us into over £13000 of debt and its isnt going to happen again. To be honest it is a combination of gradually weaning OH and little sis who lives with us off branded food and tonnes of pepsi and also out necessity this month we only have £150 pounds left over after the rest of our expenses so that all I've got to spend its normally nearer the £200 . It helps with OS's that I've got a good size freezer double on on portions to make sure I dont fall pray to takeaways when we are tired. I shop in Aldi or Lidl weekly with a list and the butchers and tesco monthly, but because of the limited funds this month we will be using up meat from the freezer.
