    :hello: Goooooood Morning :D :hello:

((((((hugs))))))) for those who need them!!

    B: Toast with lime marmalade
L: Veg au gratin (using up l/o veg/breadcrumbs/dry looking grated cheese :o )
D: Beef Cobbler followed by Semolina Pudding with pureed fruit

Slightly embarrassed to admit - despite having a good nights sleep, being up early and doing my 'normals', once the boys were safely at school ... :o:oI went back to bed ... and slept until 1045am :o:o  - on the positive side, I don't feel 'guilty' about it :D:D

Yesterday I had to travel to London. Ticket was less than I feared; opted to give the train loo's a miss having noted that a man had popped in there last (it was bumpy at the time) so it was odds on that he'd probably given the train's loo a 'miss'. At Victoria, felt it would be prudent to 'spend a penny'. Er, correct that to "spend a twenty". Why?

Saddened that the boys are back at school - Yahtzee just isn't the same without them around - so I've given myself permission to have a sloooooow day (just as well as half the day is past now :o ) .

The most pressing thing on the to do list is to sort out the Cobbler - oooh, that means I should be able to get an hour or two of cross stitch done :j :j

Believe me, Queenie, in my experience the paid-for loos at London stations are well worth 20p, because they're usually clean and well-maintained. No you shouldn't have to pay for a wee but some of the stations have freebie loos and most of those are absolutely disgusting. Some worse than the ones on the train... Just take my advice and never, ever get caught short at London Bridge (especially on a Friday night... yeuchhhhh!)

Notable exception to the free station loos rule is Cannon Street where they're perfectly nice and you don't even have to spend a penny... the key is that the station's in the City and not open in the evenings so is used almost exclusively by sober adults!

(Edit: at Victoria there are free loos around if you know where to look - like in the JD Wetherspoons!)

I try always to have 20p in my pocket - like being in the Brownies where you had to have a certain list of stuff in your pockets including 10p for an emergency phone call! (also an Elastoplast, a safety pin, a pencil... anybody remember what else?)

1 washload done as didnt realise DD's other blanket shes used whilst being ill had a few marks on it and topped up the washload with OH's shirt, pj's, new blouse from ebay i received this morning(stank of fags)t-shirt and some knicks. So theyve been washed and put on airer (thanks to OH). Have managed to sort out my posh fake flowers, have given them a wipe down and changed the vase they were in. Kitchen sides all cleaned and buffed by OH. Listed 10 items to turbolister to upload tomorrow, will tey and do another 10 later. DW nearly full so will be on soon.

Lamb stew lovely and have just had a bowl. OH has taken a huge portion to his folks as they are ill with this flu bug going around. He is staying down there for an hour as he said the kitchen and downstairs was disgusting (there not clean and tidy anyway-so must have been really bad) he took with him vinegar solution, bleach, cloth and scourer :p so he's going to spend an hour cleaning. They dont even have t-towels or dishcloths  My mum refused to stay at their home when we were going out (lived 60miles away) and it was bad then, that was 18years ago (we met at 13).

Im going to have a sleep for an hour as Im so exhausted, think Im having a lupus flare ATM and even moving is hurting. My eyes are straining too and right eye has blown a blood vessel, so nice and red  Nevermind.

Will catch up later. Luv to all

  • Hi Everyone,
Well my DD's are at their grandparents for the day, and its very quiet and lonely without them. FIL collected them, I just went into the kitchen and switched on the kettle and blow me down they were back! DD1 had forgotten her Discman and DD2 had forgotten her teddies poncho and scarf! They are due back around 5pm, and are back to school tomorrow. Pooky, your DD1 sounds like my DD2, she is a hoarder too, I can usually get bagfulls of plastic rubbish and broken things and stuff other people dont want from her room, whilst DD1 is the total opposite - her room is always scarily pristine.

Today I am having a "computer" day, updating finances, phone calls to utility companies, shopping around for insurances etc as my paperwork is now all neatly filed and up to date. I spent last night sorting and dressing barbies, as DD's are getting rid of them. Considering I have never bought a barbie for them as they have never played with them, they had 42 in the box! I am tidying them all up for car boot sale season.

If I have time later I have a basket of ironing to do and the cupboards and freezers to inventorize.
Tea is going to be rubber turkey from the freezer, probably a paste bake type concoction, with yesterdays sticky toffee pud which didnt get eaten because OH bought home doughnuts (left over from a cakes at work session)

Curry Queen Im pleased that your move is in progress at last, and am looking forward to hearing all about your new place. Hugs to everyone, and hello and welcome to all newbies.

    Afternoon all,
Well I seem to have the answer to sleepless nights! I went to the hospital yesterday and was prescribed some new tablets which I was warned "may make you drowsy". Drowsy? More like unconcious. I fell asleep at 10 last night, woke at 6 this morning so let the dog out, had my usual glass of water and took another tablet, woke up at 11 and am now due to take another. So it looks like an afternoon in bed. I've only managed to put the dishwasher on and finish some making some chicken stock. Oh well, the Dr said I should try the tablets for a week and then increase the dose. think I'll just go into hibernation.
Hugs to all who are ill or feeling down and good luck to CQ for the move.

Try listing them on ebay - I sold all of my DD's barbie stuff on there last year - it sold really well - mainly to france and lots to US...I sold a kitchen set - a pink fridge and cooker with sink set that I'd picked up at a boot fair for £1.....some one in America paid £17 for it.....I managed to pick another set up in a chairty shop about 3 weeks later and sold that, again to America for around £12.....have a look and see what prices the dolls are fetching now, you might be surprised.

  • afternoon all,
well i am sooooooooooooooooooo chuffed today.....for some reason dd2(8.5 months) has grasped eating lumps, lumpyish and proper food all in one go!!! she ate a whole slice of toast (-crusts) after her weetabix, then for lunch she ate baby pasta+whole peas in a tomato sauce followed by a whole banana fed herself(woulda been whizzed up until now)....i am just so pleased as i thought she was going to be like my other dd and eat nothing but puree until 18 months.i dont know why it suddenly clicked but it has....yay!!!!

so far today i've prepared tea for tonight and tomorrow night, will cook both later.washed up and wiped down all of kitchen.collected up all clean dry washing, folded and either put into ironing pile...ok mountain or away, dusted all of downstairs and made birthday cards with dd's(nannys birthday and daddys birthday soon )

the mandate finally came from the insurance company to replace our laminate flooring(claimed in november!!) so we are relieved and will go look tomorrow as there are several shops we can use,i think it will either be floors to go or carpet right as they are nearest.

    breakfast = weetabix and toast.

lunch = pork roll sandwiches and cheese.

tea = roast turkey with trimmings....got 8.2kg turkey reduced to £5 from £30 in tesco so thought we'd have roast tonight, cold meat and bubble and squeak tomorrow then freeze down the rest,it'll be like christmas all over again  but we couldnt not get it for that price....so much meat.

SWEETPEA......how much would you like for the barbie dolls? i want to get some(read:-am being harrassed for some!!!!) for my 3yo dd,was going to wait until the summer when car-boots start up again but if you would like to sell any now?

C_Q.....sooooooooo pleased for you that its going so well with the house, you so did the right thing decorating before you moved in!! we moved into our council house last january....no carpets etc at all anywhere just concrete and boards....and last decorated by someone on drugs in the 50's it would seem!! we moved straight in and we've only done about half the decorating now.wish we'd have waited a week or so to move in.

After I don't know how long I'm back on the internet properly without small children, chores that have a deadline (i.e. washing so that we can pack or gifts to buy) or OH's hogging the computer :rotfl: So far I have spent 4 hours trying to catch up on msg boards, trying to research money saving ideas (Thanks to Johanne buying me Martins Money Diet for Xmas :j ) and freezing my backside off by not having the fire on! Finally I am on the home stretch and tomorrow normal service should resume - especially after spending tonight ironing while watching What Women Want (or maybe one of my Bridget Jones DVDs  ) since OH couldn't manage to do more than the necessary last night

Guess I had better go though.. need to pick DD up from school in 30 minutes and I still have dishes to wash and dry washing to unpack from my laundrette trip this morning :o
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
