quick grab slots while you can tesco christmas home delivery select tesco customers?

  • Lovely lady from Tesco called me just now to tell me that tomorrow you will be able to book the 21st of December, on Wednesday you can book the 22nd and on Thursday you can book the 23rd.

    Hope this helps someone (& is true)!!!
  • Well i checked again about 10.30am .. and i could book a slot so i did for the 22nd ... but now i have checked again 1pm its only going up to the 20th .. I am hoping that tesco don't cancel me again .. fingers crossed. As most of the slots for 21st have gone and none for the 22nd now ..

    I booked mine late last night with the url change and they have just phoned to cancel it saying because it was done in the wrong way by changing the url I cannot have it. He said he was in the process of calling everyone to cancel theirs too as he said the slots were not available yet. I said you havent cancelled other members in my family that have been given priority booking but he denied it was anything to do with how much I spend but that it had been booked using the url.

    I'm really worried as I said before I have mobility problems and cannot go into the store.. I really dont know what to do :( Which number could I call to speak to someone that might consider booking me a slot?

    Also when I log in now instead of the days moving on, monday today has been all greyed out rather than it now starting on Tuesday so I don't know when these are going to become available they might wait until their priority customers have had first pick. They are manipulating us with this especially if the above poster said it was showing up to 22nd earlier today and now its the 20th again :(

    I could try asda but I have lost my orders 2 Christmas years running with them due to the fact that when you amend your basket your slot is re-opened for anyone to take back from you as soon as you log in while you are amending. They may have corrected this with the site update but I can't risk that :( Does anyone know?

    I just rang them to see if I could book on the phone but she said no. I've only made 1 order with Asda this year, all the rest with tesco. I don't know what the spend threshold is but it must be high as I go over £100 everytime plus my daughter uses the card in the shop but they said they don't count in store shopping. Also its because I shop with my daughters account online as well as my own so she can have the points to put towards her rac but they count them as separate accounts so it looks like I've personally spent less. I asked if they could check this and consider they have all been paid by me on my visa card and asked if they might consider letting me book because I have disability problems. She went to ask the manager and came back saying sorry having a disability does not give you priority order booking. I really wouldnt ask if it wasnt so important, my daughters working full time all over christmas and hasnt got time to do the shopping for me shes even wanting to have an online order herself so she cant get it for me

    She said it was suppose to go on today up util 23rd but theres a tech problem, amazing how come theres a tech problem now when it doesnt happen any other time, they are up to something

  • Tesco have been trying to contact me today whilst I was at work, wouldn't leave a message with the carer. I want to know if they were calling to cancel or apologise. Anyone know if they have had their order cancelled, does it still stay up on the website as mine is still on the "My Grocery Orders" section. I'm sorry Lady K, I really do understand. I think you should e-mail them like I did, it helps having things in writing.
  • They'll be calling to cancel... we've just had our second cancellation call... (yes, we rebooked immediately after the first booking was cancelled)... hehehe

    When they cancelled our first order, it wiped it from the site and it even wiped everything from our basket so we re-did the list in MSWord and saved it. Our second try has just done the same and the wife is in the process of rebooking just for laughs.

    have you considered asking your family members with the priority booking to book you a slot with a delivery to your address? There is a button which says deliver to another address or something along those lines? It is more hassle as obviously none of your favourites/previous orders will be on their account and you will have to sort out payment with them - but could it be an option??

    I was just thinking that on holiday this year - I actually got Tesco to deliver to the holiday address that we were staying at!! as it is very difficult to take my DS to the shop.. it was no problem just logged in as usual and asked it to deliver to that address..

    I have thought of that but as their orders are already booked you cant change the address it has to be a whole new order, not sure how they stand for ordering more than one time. I have thought of asking things to get delivered to their address but its a lot to deal with an entire christmas order then having somewhere to put it until it can get brought to me. If I cant get a secure order by tomorrow I will have to sort something out, either that or order things earlier than I really wanted to and hope the dates are ok enough to get through Christmas. At least I know this year though because finding my slot completely cancelled on 22nd December last year for a 23rd delivery with Asda was a real shock

  • Why does everyone seem to think it's OK to hack into Tesco's site to try and book slots that are not publicly available?? So it's not a war crime, but please don't complain when you get caught - and of course, like most of these low level frauds, you are making it more difficult for people who stick to the rules - all the Tesco staff who are spending time cancelling your bookings are not able to work on bona fide bookings. The slots become available day by day, so tomorrow morning you will be able to book deliveries on Monday 21st.
