    Hi guys

Can I just ask whether anyone has received a mailing from Tesco either in the post on email telling (non priority lol!) customers that its booking slots are open or opening this week? I haven't and I have 5 different accounts!

I know that we being regular good online customers (past or present) are on the ball about having to book 3 weeks in advance for the Christmas slots but I really wonder how many other people have remembered. None of the Christmas £6 slots already opened ie Sat, Sun or Mon have been booked up on my Tesco internet site. I am wondering whether there will be a lot of people wanting to book it up the 22nd and 23rd (if there are available slots and I can see there aren't that many) if people haven't been given any advance warning. We might all be over worrying. I hope so. Just a thought.
  • I've got Tesco on the phone now. They have cancelled my order and are saying you are only a priority customer if you have never missed a week over the whole year and we must have been on holiday so don't meet the criteria, to which I replied with 5 people who are disabled in the house we can't go on holiday, we have had a weekly delivery for 7 years! They are seeing what they can do to retrieve my order so I at least don't have to put the whole thing through again.

Just booked my slot with Sainsbury's, for the 22nd. Their basics range is fab, the delivery slots are one hour instead of two, and the cost is only £3.50. Next year I'll only shop at Tesco if I absolutely have to.

Thanks for that. I've never used Sainsburys online. One hour delivery slots are brill! Will check it out.

dare I ask though... do they do codes??? I do like a free delivery :p

I believe you often get a £10 off your first order over £50 from Sainsbury's :D Plus £5 cashback for opening a new account if you go through Quidco.

Plus delivery is free on certain days when you spend over £100 - I like that bit best.

I agree, their basics are brilliant and I love 1 hour time slots. Plus sounds silly but our drivers in our area are lovely too.

I too have booked a Sainsbury slot for the 22nd.

Did the same last year. I hold the slot with three expensive bottles of champagne. Last year I got a phone call from them the morning of the cut off day for amending your order to warn me that I wouldn't be able to amend after a certain time later that day. They had taken the time to check that I only had three bottles of champagne on order and then took the time to phone me to remind me to amend my order. Fantastic!

I agree I absolutely can't fault Sainsbury's for customer service (total opposite of Tesco!). The only thing missing really is price matching substitutions - if they did that I'd never shop anywhere else!

Like many others just sent sainsburys my order instead of Mr T

Hint for anyone ordering fresh turkey from sainsbury's..... it wont show you them until you select a valid delivery slot for fresh turkeys. Threw me for a while!
  • I also forgot to say £3.50 delivery and if you spend over £100 its free delivery with Asda!
