Thanks for that. I've never used Sainsburys online. One hour delivery slots are brill! Will check it out.

dare I ask though... do they do codes??? I do like a free delivery :p

As a matter of course throughout the year, you can get free delivery with Sainsburys on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday if you spend over £100.

Their online shop has improved a lot over the last few years.
I abandoned Tescos after last year's disaster over Christmas slots, and my Sainsburys order arrived in good time and complete with a helpful and friendly driver!
  • Re Sainsburys:

Thanks everyone for your help. The 22nd was all booked so I've got a slot for the 21st and am happy with that. I have a Sainsburys 5 mins up the road so can run up there for any fresh bit and bobs that I need nearer the big day.

Does anyone know of any current discount codes before I checkout? I've done a search but come up with nothing. I know about quidco.

My second attempt was cancelled again today for 22nd

The sainsburys quidco thing is £5 not £10 I'm tempted to try them I've never shopped with them before but they are full up for 22nd now but I'll try later for 23rd if I get lucky. Does any other cashback site offer this deal or a better one as I am not quite so keen on quidco?

The tesco lady that called though was very nice and she said she did agree with me it wasnt fair that some have been given priority bookings but she was only doing the job shes told to do. She was very genuine
    Thanx

I've been using Waitrose for the last few months. I was fed up of Tesco's ridiculously short dates.

Waitrose also do the price match substitute thing and have free delivery over £50. Their xmas slots have been available for a while too.

Yes, they may cost a bit more, but the quality is noticably higher and the use by dates far more forgiving.

I also have the choice of Asda or Sainsbury deliveries but will be sticking to Waitrose (I now mostly use Sainsburys for my instore shopping though as they have the scan and pack as you go round thing) for the forseeable.

  • My sot for the 23rd is still in my account and I haven't had a call yet but have done with the 3 other dates

Just noticed they have added this to their website when you go onto book a slot.

Hi, I think whichever supermarket you use you need to be prepared for items to be out of stock. I always have a contingency plan in place to make sure I have some time to pop to the local shop just in case I am short of something important.

With regards to short dates Tesco usually refund and let you keep the item. Asda sometimes do the same and sometimes send the next driver out with a replacement.

I've just noticed that they have put their delivery prices up for that week. Monday 21st is showing as £6, normally £4 - £5.
