Just spoke with customer services again and expressed, very politely, but very strongly how I felt about having been told that no-one would be being offered priority booking and then discovering that some people were being offered priority which would mean that others who need the service might be unable to access it. I also pointed out the startling difference between the response I got from Tesco and Sainsbury's helpful attitude.

So, the low down appears to be that some people were e-mailed about priority booking and this was supposed to be available from the 26th but there was a delay in it going live.

Personally I think we should all go on the tesco site, amend the URL and book up every ****** slot we can lay our keyboards on. We won't get charged and we can cancel later but they will get fed up with ringing us so it might prompt a rethink for future years

I received an email from Tesco earlier offering 250 extra clubcard points on any grocery deliveries before 23/12/09.

Don't know if it's specific to me but the code is GRGIFT

oddly enough it stated they were giving it to me as a frequent customer but haven't used Tesco.com for best part of 2 years - maybe a ruse to get people to order but hope it helps others

Thank you so much for reminding me!! I've just been on and booked a slot on the 23rd. I'm absolutely thrilled - I missed out last year. I wasn't expecting them to be available until next week. Thanks again!! :T

Everytime I try to book a delivery slot all the evenings are gone. Is there a special time of day or week that a delivery day becomes availble online?

Hhhmmmmm I am peeved...I have had a delivery every week apart from 2 this year and not have a priority slot!! I have changed the URL like last year and booked the 23rd December, just hope it doesnt get cancelled, if you want to change it look at the URL and change it to week 3 and bingo there is your delivery slot :-)

I managed to get a christmas week slot (22nd) by changing the url only to be phoned by tesco the following day to say my order had been cancelled and I should try again on the 30th. Charming!

Whats the problem with that, you were trying to cheat the system but got caught out so they cancelled the order.

If I was Tesco's anybody who gets a christmas slot would have to be a high profit customer

the rest of us can take our tins of beans and value noodles a week earlier
