Whats the problem with that, you were trying to cheat the system but got caught out so they cancelled the order.

The problem is that Tesco are already making those slots available to people who are "priority" customers. We look after 5 disabled young adults in our home so getting to the supermarket to do a massive shop each week is not possible, trust me we tried. As a result we have spent well over £500 per month on weekly deliveries for seven years and yet we are not "priority customers". You call it cheating the system, fair enough, its the only way I am dishonest in my life. I would say I was exposing a flaw in their website. If you are able to reserve a slot and pay for it through their website then they should honour it. Or they could at least let you save everything in your basket rather than put it all through again on the 30th. I learned the hard way the first couple of christmases when the nearest I could get a slot to Christmas was the 15th!

Just had a call from Tesco cancelling my order for the 23rd December hhhmmmm why is my money not good enough and others are? annoying to say the least when I have delivery every week and others that dont get priority booking arrgggg
  • We phoned Tesco and were told that the 'Priority' slots were given out by a lottery process. We told them that we shopped online every week on account of having a disabled daughter and they couldn't care less - basically said tough. Typical of Tescos really!

Apparently only 25% of slots were made available to the 'Priority' customers and that the other 75% would be released at midnight on the 29th.

Good luck to all those trying to get them. I doubt they will last long!

I was just coming on to ask when the slots would open to all; thanks!
  • I booked my slot by changing the URL but they called me today to cancel it saying dates would be available from the 30th.
  • I too got the phone call to say the date I booked of the 23rd has been cancelled. Bummer! Are these going live midnight tonight or tomorrow? I.e 00:01 29th or 00:01 30th?
  • Those of you that have had your orders cancelled, when did you actually place your order?

I got the priority email and I probably only shop at Tesco's about once a month, so I guess it must be totally random. I admit I didn't take up a slot - reason being that the normal rules seemed to apply, the slot is kept open for 2 hours which means you have to do your shopping now. The trouble there is that most of the decent offers on the site right now run out on either 1st or 13th December. I guess I could probably order any old crap now and then change the order totally nearer the time but all that seems a bit of a drag.

I'm going to stick to my usual method of Xmas shopping....leaving it until the last opening hour on Xmas Eve and then hoovering up the bargains. We order a rib of beef on the bone in advance and do a veg box so the shopping is basically just for the extra bits and bobs and some alcohol.

  • i have just had two phone calls from TESCOS regarding the Christmas delivery.
the first was to cancel my order as i am not a priority customer and i have been told that will be able to book from the 30th November for christmas slots and that 90% of the sort after slots will be available.
Thats not ok as they are letting some people book and not others so i wrote an email asking why they are selecting who can book and who can not and what the criteria is to be in this select group (i also wrote this same email to them the other day but it was ignored)
So the reason i have not have one of these emails is down to the fact that i have not spent enough through out the year online and i quote i am not a loyal customer. as you cam imagine i took offense to this as i order from them every 10 days and i spend around £100 and i also have a local tesco that i shop in quite regular as well.
i was then told that i may not even be able to book one of these slots on Monday as they are not sure how many are available.
there is constant stream of conflicting lies coming from tesco, and i am not sure why they even bothered calling to tell me i am not loyal there fore do not deserve a time slot but i guess that is the customer service i have come to expect from them now.
i just thought you all would like to know how awful tesco are being to customers who dont spend the amount they want you to spend
