I have a slot with both Asda and Tesco and will be cancelling Tesco as late as possible in protest at their policy.

The Tesco drivers will be happy! but not the pickers or the person who has to put the shopping back!

I could do with some of my orders being cancelled tonight as I have 8 deliveries in about a 70 mile radius and all but one in the 6 - 8pm time slot! Someone's order is going to be late tonight!!!

  • thats what i was thinking, less work for the driver.
Just means another customer will have to go to the store to get their shopping when they could have had a slot...bit selfish i think

I will cancel before the items have been picked so it will not cause the pickers a problem. With regard to being selfish,I am actually trying to make a point so that next year the system may be thouhgt through more carefully.

Why don't you do what Tesco do and phone all the customers and tell them the lorry broke down so tough luck, no shopping will be delivered! :D

  • They'll overbook the deliveries anyway, they always do - and people will have to take their orders a couple of hours early in any case. One more cancelled order will ease the overall load a bit!
  • Don't count on getting your deliveries from Tesco. I've posted on the vent board after having two deliveries cancelled within 48 hours.

Now I've just spoken to the dot com manager of my local store, Prescot, Merseyside. She told me that lots of orders are being cancelled every day, and that in fact although the web site is still displaying available slots for Thursday and Friday of this week she knows she has no real slots until 27th December.

She says that basically she hasn't the staff or vehicles to cope, that the computers in store used to pick and price orders are crashing by the minute and she has been pleading with her bosses to get this sorted for weeks.

Lots of people are going to be disappointed, so make sure that you are not totally dependent on Tesco delivery.

She sounded really under pressure and explained she was having dozens of these conversations every day, after initially wanting to express my ire, I ended up feeling really very sorry for her and offering sympathy.

I've done the bulk of my shopping at Aldi today and have got some fantastic quality food at bargain prices! My bill came to around a third of what it would have cost at Tesco so I'm really pleased! :T

The last few bits of fresh bread/milk/veg needed next week I will buy from local shops, so that's my food/drink shopping all sorted now :j

Ive got an order with Tesco tonight and might just tell the driver to put it back in the van fed up with them lieing to me. I had a code emailed to me which didnt work so when I rang was promised it would be refunded back to me tonight should I ring with the code during my slot. Surprise suprise they refused to refund me the value of the code said I never got the code emailed to me!

First time Ive shopped with them for almost a year as Ive had loads of problems with them tbh dont know why I was stupid enough to go back for this one order
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.
