I have just booked a slot on 21st (only day left!)....But have a question...

Payday is not until friday, so cannot do the "big order" until then, instead I ordered £15-00 worth of shopping, knowing thats avaliable on my debit card...Will they cancel my order because its to low??

You can order as much as you like because they don't take any money or charge you until the day they deliver your shopping regardless of what day you actually order and check out. Hope that helps.

I do have a slot with Tesco for the 23rd, obviously one of the lucky 500 I suppose however..Tesco are putting their prices up at a rediculous rate and I compared my shopping with Asda and for the same stuff, I would save £22 with Asda.
The only reason why I did Tesco groceries online is cause of the codes, which are now like golddust.

On the 22nd I will be going with a friend to Asda (she asked if I would come..she drives..I don't, neither does my hubby)..and on the 22nd I will be cancelling my delivery slot for the 23rd with Tesco.

I do not agree with treating customers any different and why should I get a slot and someone else not...

Tesco have lost my custom and I will be ordering / shopping at Asda from now on.

Check when the last possible date/time is for you to cancel, they do tend to change it at christmas and make it much earlier, you don't really want to go to Asda on the 22nd and then have Tesco turn up on 23rd

Thanks for that, I thought they checked the account to see if you had the money in there.

I've never heard of that and I've been shopping with them online for a couple of years.

I have a slot with both Asda and Tesco and will be cancelling Tesco as late as possible in protest at their policy.

This has come about because of their policies, many customers who merited a slot did not get one. I had my first slot cancelled by central customer services on my ansaphone, and then reinstated by my local store......because I complained vociferously, and I was a loyal customer spending in the region of £120 pw. I disagree with their adhoc policy, and will be votIng with my feet. I want their profits to suffer if likeminded people do the same,so cancelling my slot early enough to allow it to go to someone else would be counter productive.

They do check the card is valid and will ring-fence a small amount (usually around £2) when you make your order but the full charge isn't taken until they actually do your shopping.

I've just been on the Tesco website & they are showing deliveries for 24th December, they're all booked up but I thought they weren't delivering on that date???

If you look at the 25th, you will see it displayed as well. I guess it is easier to have the dates displayed within the week calendar, and then mark the slots as unavailable.

Although they have taken out 31st Dec - 2nd Jan in the following week.

    Definitely not delivering 24th.
