Oh thats a shame - I need a new bed ??? i don't think I could cash and carry one with my little corsa.
However from what I remember - if you purchase something from a company thats in administration - then your contract is with the administrator.
I feel sorry for all those people who have ordered stuff in time for Xmas especially those who paid £, cheque or Debit Card.
I have a Visa Debit - which does offer the same protection as a Credit Card.0 -
I know.. but with courts they dont really ask for the full payment until it gets to you. I bought a 4 grand leather sofa from them 2 years ago and i only paid 50 pounds and then the rest the day they bought it to me.
But i would never thoght they would go bust.. but i think that the admin/banks will run it. its such a big company and well known0 -
Thanks for the head up.
There is a pretty big store in Nottingham, so hopefully I will be able to get some cheap stuff from there!Titch

I know I was surprised too - I tend to pay for most items by CC for that very reason. Only learnt about the Visa Debit protection recently - but then again who has money surplus in their current account at this time of year.0

Hmmmm, this could prove to be a expensive couple of days.
I'm on the look out for a new sofa and so nearly bought one till I saw Courts had shut. The gamble may pay off for a change . . . Lawe :wave:0 -
Hi, I bought and paid by debit card 2 sofas 5 weeks ago. Just been on the phone to my bank and I am getting the £1200 back even though I dont have any insurance from the bank (TSB). So anyone who paid by debit card, all is not lost.0

Phew! bet you're relieved...ours is only for £250. We thought the offer was too good to be true at the time ::)
I've just checked the T&Cs and it doesnt say anything about this situation that I can see. I'm in the queue to their helpline now. Its the Nationwide btwTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

I think thats because its a Visa Debit Card - other DCs don't have the same Visa protection. You're protected by Visa whether its a DC or CC. Bet you breathed a sigh of relief! ::)0
