Total now for this year to 2nd Nov is £33587 capital paid off :j However, DH finishes work on Fri - 2nd redundancy in 6 months, so no payoff :( and no job on the horizon - means our only money coming in will be jsa (64.30 or whatever it is) and child benefit :( Xmas could be interesting...

Ho hum - I'm hoping 2010 will be a better year for us - as a family we've had a lousy 2009 (birth of DS3 being the exception!!:D)

So sorry greent that is a blow.

At least you paid a huge amount off from redundancy no. 1. Here's hoping that he finds another job soon.

    Big hugs

was feeling a bit bogged down by eveything so thought i would come and see what you guys have been up to and oh my days you have all been so brilliant, some of the totals are truly amazing, well done. it is a tough old slog but we are getting there. recieved my first pay from new job had done loads of overtime so it was a nice surprise however october had been very tight and was severely overdrawn so any surplus i earned was eaten away by the overdraft. am looking forward to getting december out of the way so that i can focus on clearing the debt by the end of the year. my total against my debt this month was £1010. am waiting till the end of the week to call and reduce my limits but its such a good feeling. also the interest on the remainder of my student loan will be in effect from the end of the month so my repayment will be more about the loan than about the interest. onwards and upwards my debt busting comrades:j

I have heard a rumour that there will be the same challenge starting in December - I think Hypno is organising it?! If so I'm in at as well! x

  • Well done everyone! I am very nearly into single figures for my whole debt now, and should hit it at some point next week.

I'd love to have another go next year as it helps just to have it written down in your signature and seeing it reduce. Next year I'd like to clear 20k again, but will need to include paying off the mortgage as my other debts will have gone :j
