    Hello,
No payments to report for me I'm afraid - however I have been doing some good work. I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself and been very tempted to do some spending the last couple of weeks, so I decided it was time I close down all those old cards and accounts just to be safe.

    So I've closed:
HSBC Current Account (with £500 o/d)
Cahoot Current Account (with £300 o/d)
HSBC Platinum Card (with £10,000 limit)
& I've reduced my Amex card limit from £6,000 to £3,000.

To think....they were all full to the brim a couple of years ago!

Keep up the good work - you're all wonderful :)

Well Done Batfink :T:T:T Getting rid of those safety nets can be scary. You done good kiddo!

My news? £100 off the debt for me. Sig updated.

Are most of you on 0% balance transfer credit cards, I have been declined by a couple due to credit rating, are there any that are easier to apply for in terms of acceptance, also if I pay off some money to credit cards in between due dates for minimum payments does all of that come off the balance or does it still pay the interest.

Hiya everyone - not a good week for me! Just back off cheapo hols and hubby's car has gone kaputt - he finally admitted he'd bought a 'lemon'. Anyway after struggling to stay out of my overdraft and pay off my debts whilst on maternity leave, we now have to buy a car so he can get to work -aaarrrrrggghhhh!! What's worse is we saw a nice one near where we live, quite cheap but as it's a 2 litre hubby can't get insurance as he's only had a full licence for 2 years (they would insure us but it would cost over £1000).
The other alternative is we've seen the same make and model of car that I scrapped three months ago (I knew we should have kept my car and scrapped hubby's instead - ok so it was a heap of rust but at least it worked!)

Anyway, it seems I will be adding to my debt this week rather than reducing it as I will have to use my overdraft to pay for the car!

Back at work full time next week so at least I'll have a proper wage coming in - then I'll start paying things off again.

I think most cards charge interest from the day after you have to have paid by IYKWIM! Re cards would check your credit score and that will show why you may be turned down,,,also a good dwy of checking the info is correct so you can alter it if it isnt!

Just popping in...havent updated sig yet; its month 1 of new budget and starting afresh and will start this from scratch too...not including loa payments (of 400+ a month) as it lulls me into a false sence of security so just focussing on cc's! O/d is gone...:D
