NEW - pay off £20,000 (ish) by Christmas 2009

Have finally decided to take the bull by the horns so to speak and tackle my problem in this area.
Can I join you all in here?
I'd like to pay £10k off my debts by Christmas.
From what I can gather from reading the thread you're doing regular payments to loans/CCards etc, car boots and ebaying things, can I ask what else you're doing - I'm desperately seeking ideas as 2 of my credit cards have put up their interest rates and I really need to make some headway in reducing the balances but when I make a payment to them most of it is swallowed up by next months interest.
Thanks

You should pop over to the Payment a Day thread too. These two threads together really make such a HUGE difference and will have you debt free much quicker.
Have a look at some of the other challenges as well.
We are all fairly bonkers, but will help each other out if we can.
Good luck x:D2013 TARGET £30k

Many thanks for the welcome - have just discovered quidco - how much money have I already missed out on
.
Nevermind - not any more
Also trying to get my head around matchbetting, I understand the principles but have to gather some courage and give it a go - most I bet is £1 each way on the Grand National :rotfl:.
Will take a look at the payment a day thread too.
Happy Easter.

Just paid £1,878 to the tax man on Friday. Have known this was coming for some time. This is not even included in my totals, as was setting aside the money for this one since December. Still hated to see it leave the bank Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You might want to have a look at Topcashback instead - they don't charge an admin fee, are more reliable than Quidco and offer an increase in your payment depending on how much you have 'spent' in the month.
I'm busy MBing myself and it's my excuse for not posting what I have paid off this month. Make sure you use the referral board for signing up (and the cashback sites etc.)
Good luck.

Well - did a car boot yesterday - it was freezing! Have realised that I am useless at selling stuff, whereas hubby was selling all sorts of tat for bizarrely high prices!
Anyway we made £80 and got rid of lots of rubbish.
Now the bad news - need to spend the money we made on a new lawnmower - the flames coming out of the back of our current one makes this a necessity. We're also taking our dd's out for the day tomorrow - so guess that's our profit all gone.
Never mind - still have £30 to pay towards cc in my purse, so still chugging onwards and upwards!0
