Finally stumped up the cash to go inside St Paul's Cathedral yesterday, although did have a 20% off voucher which could only be redeemed through the crypt entrance. What a great place to start a tour, right in front of Nelson's tomb, the saviour of a nation. I had no idea that so many of the great and the good were buried/commemorated down there. With it being Armistice day it was all the more poignant standing in front of all the plaques for those that had died including the Korean war and the Falklands, it was a humbling experience to be surrounded by the reminders of the very best of the very bravest.
The rest of the Catherdral was breathtaking, I only wish I had stumped the dosh of previous occasions as it was well worth the visit. Although I couldn't hear any whispers in the whispering gallery but I did climb to the very top and the view even on a winters day was breathtaking- well worth £8.80.
Had a look at the Christmas lights on Oxford street and the windows at Selfridges-Jean-Paul Sartre was right when he said Hell is other people. I can't be doing with the crowds. Or paying £6 for a gin and tonic !

One more thing, more of a money saving tip. When in London and looking for some entertainment, unless you have 10 year old children with you, don't go and see "A Christmas Carol" starring Gareth Hale at the Arts centre.

I am not knocking the production or acting which was good, its just that I am not 10 and this wasn't pointed out to be a children's panto at time of purchase. I was the only person not drinking Tizer or eating Milky Ways. Humbug.

I know! I am such a grump all my friends give me grief, although I did get up and dance in the panto and I did laugh in all the wrong places so I would have stood out quite clearly. (I do like being grumpy- it does give me a great sense of pride and satisfaction because is p1sses off my Mother who is always telling me that its not a nice character trait to have- if your parents don't approve it must be good).
I have just had my first annual review with the excellent Payplan and I mentioned this site and thread and the number of people that drop by for a read and a comment and they said that if anyone is struggling or just needs some quick and free advice to give payplan a call on their first contact number for immediate help-0800 716239.
Pouring down with rain here at the moment and now that the weather has got colder all my home made diesel has solidified in the garage so I am unable to use it till maybe next spring when it picks up again. Have just watched two excellent French films, "Anything for her" and "Irreversible" which is one of the most shocking films I have ever seen-
    "Irreversible"- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M32xgAALhU
It does star the excellent Vincent Cassel and the worlds most beautiful women Monica Bellucci.
    "Anything for her"- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q4b_cNdBXc
starring the awesome Diane Kruger and gifted Vincent Lindon.
I love watching foreign films as usually I know nothing about them so everything that happens is a total surprise and it seems French films are the best and I have seen some absolute gems such as tell no one and crimson river. I like the fact that you know the actors as you have seen them in Hollywood films (always playing baddies due to there European accents). On a Hollywood note I hear that filming is about to commence on Bad Boys 3- I cant wait.
