Thank Jim tell me more about Payplan, I am thinkin about a DMP with them as soon as I get my start date at Sunderland Job centre. I lost my job 2 months back you see, and have been extremely low since.
Its very straight forward and there is no hassle. first of all go to http://www.payplan.com/ and hit the "debt help now" orange box. You will then fill in some simple questions about your situation and they will call you in the next 24 hours (you can call them direct on 0800 716 239 if you want). They are very polite, understanding and professional and you always deal with the same 2/3 people. They will take details of all your creditors and the amounts owed and then contact them to arrange a payment plan you can afford. You will very little or no contact with your creditors and once it is set up and you have made roughly 2 monthly payments that it, in some cases you will never hear from your creditors again.
There are many other helpful services that payplan can offer you and have a great website called justabank for their customer which even has template letters on there if you wanted to contact your creditors about anything.
Sorry to hear about losing your job and I wish you every success in getting a new one, it sounds like you have something lined up already. I was made redundant just 1 month after the photo above was taken and can really appreciate the horrible feeling that you must have.0 -

I have another question if thats okay, had a look at the payplan website from your link (thank you) but I dont know where to start really. Its a bit complicated as the debts I have are joint with my Ex. We have a joint loan and joint credit cards which we have both been paying but I am not going to be able to afford my bit because of other stuff he's stopping paying me and I know hes going to struggle to pay his bit aswell.
Do i ask him to do a separate DMP or do we go in as joint debtors and do one together ?? or do I just half everything ? Sorry , a bit rambly but am very confused :rolleyes:0 -
Just had another call from MBNA. Very polite and helpful. Explained that the account is about to default as payplan not paying enough, I again explained I have no further funds so cannot increase the payment. Last time they called I was offered a full and final settlement of £6.2k on a debt of £18k today they can accept £5.3k. Now I have no funds and no way of getting them, however I do have a private pension fund with over £10k in it does anyone know if it is possible to access these funds before retirement?0

You're right it's a disgusting feeling, but it's the empty days that hurt more than anything, and the feelings of worthlessness that comes with it.0 -

not really much I can say to that, but there will be a point in the future where you will be able to look back and say to yourself "I managed to get everything sorted out".0 -
You phoned your pension provider yet Jim?0

Good luck with getting at your pension Jim0

Its a no go which is what I suspected.0

Oh poop. That's a real shame. It sounded like a good plan. Perhaps they'll call back with a new settlement figure that's even lower - it's like price-drop tv0
