Well we all like surprises. I have been told today that as from Wednesday I will be getting an inflation busting pay rise of £900 per year or as I like to think- my council tax. A complete surprise, previously the pay awards have been announced a lot earlier and this really is last minute and unexpected. This kind of makes up for March being the worst month I had in a long time.0

Local Pranksters have struck again-
A NOTICE claiming the former Woolworths shop in Southwick Square was to be used as a centre for immigrants has been dismissed as a hoax.
The notice has been put up at least twice, most recently at the weekend, and has caused alarm to people living nearby.
Adur District Council spokeswoman Cathy Ridge said there had been no application made for the building to be used as such a centre.
"This is obviously the work of a practical joker," she added.
Unrest
The notice said a planning application, number AF-2009, had been submitted to West Sussex County Council and included a drop-in and advice centre for "illegal immigrants", as well as beds for 45 people, a soup kitchen and two five-metre wind turbines on the roof of the building to provide energy.
The application was signed by "Arthur Dailey" and "Alfred Garnett".
Jason Wilson, of Sussex Police, said: "It just seems engineered to cause unrest for an unknown purpose.
"The council has not received an application and we are treating it as a hoax."
