Everything is fine. I went out for Sunday lunch yesterday with my boss from my second job which was really nice ( a day off the diet). I believe that my Dad will be coming tomorrow to collect the car- need to have a word at work to get tue/wed off, but no one around at the moment – lure of the coffee machine. How is everyone else doing- I hope you all had a good weekend. Jim0

I haven't gone all Spanish - typo was meant to be 'okay' of course. It brings a touch of the Med though so I'll leave it in. It's fantastic and sunny up here today - comes to something when 3 or 4 Celcius feels 'warm', doesn't it?Miggy

Yep back on the diet with no issues, only broke it fro Sunday lunch. I the bad old days I'd have broken it all week, but the thought of posting my results has spurned me on. Next weigh in I week today.
Just done the Tesco/aldi shop this am. Tesco for good quality cleaning products (unfortunately aldi stuff is rubbish in comparison to branded gear) and aldi for food stuffs. What an exciting morning I have had. Dad hear approx 3.30pm.
Since last summer I get my Virgin bill online to save £1 on paper bill. I am not a big user of the phone, maybe 2-3 calls a week costing roughly £2 pm, so when I get the email to tell me that my online bill is available to view I don't bother looking at it as it is the same every month, or so I thought. When checking a bank statement I realised a large amount had gone out via dd. I have been and checked all the bills online and lo and behold my lodger has clocked up £125+ in calls since July calling all over the world. I am livid. When using the phone he always told me he had a calling card. Now I am going to have to demand the money from him and lay the law down with the phone, ie calling card or not don't ever touch my phone again, and that goes for incoming calls as well, you can't be trusted. I don't know why he didn't come and say "hey, i've hammered the phone this month, have you got the bill?"
It never rains, but it pours in my world.0 -
Hi Jim, would just like to say Hello. My girlfriend and I stumbled across your thread a couple of weeks ago and sat up reading almost all of it. It is very inspirational, thanks for taking the time to write it.0

My car insurance is up renewal tonight and for the first time in 16 years of motoring I cant beat my renewal notice ! It is £50 cheaper than everyone else. I've always beaten it in the past. Just called Admiral up to pay for the policy and cheekily I asked for a discount and got another £4 off. Have had to go onto pay monthly as I can no longer afford the lump sum. Bummer.0

Hi Hog hill and partner ! You have made me smile at the thought of you both taking the time to read it. It is like I have no shame left and will happily post every last detail, and the benefit of course is that other people get to share and comment, unlike a diary which no one ever sees (until you are dead, or careless).0

Hi Jim, I've only just found your thread too. It's amazing how much you remind me of myself when I first found this site. I, too, thought there was no way I could possibly discuss how much money I owed, I was so ashamed about how I'd got myself into that position. Now, several years down the line and not too far off paying everything off, I couldn't care less who knows about my financial situation. I found the more I talked about it, the easier it became to deal with. It's amazing how money and debt are still such taboo subjects, even nowadays, with all the other risque things we discuss and experience!
Well done to you for coming so far, and good luck for the future.PROUD TO HAVE DEALT WITH MY DEBTS0
