Has anyone tried "spotify" yet? I have just read about it in the paper and downloaded it- https://www.spotify.com/en/
Register as a user, then enter a name of a band or artist. If you're lucky up will pop dozens of there albums and singles, arranged in itunes like playlists. Click on a track and it plays in seconds, streamed to your computer in good quality. After 10 or so tracks comes an ad, then its back to the music. Lily allen is on there along with glasvegas, coldplay , britney spears. This site is free legal and it works.

Some tracks come up with not available in the UK, but its great for trying before you buy.

over the past few days i've been responding to a thread regarding lloyds tsb staff getting a bounus, I don't know if i've already mentioned that I work for lloyds and will be recieving a bonus this month,£390. There was a thread criticing this payment so I thought I would point out that it is being shared by 70,000 people based on their individual and department performance, not just some fat cat payout for high city flyers that have added woe to the ecconomy. Well oh my God- did I get shot down, one post even called me a parasite and blamed me for the poster loosing £60k in shares in a rival bank. I think in future I will keep myself to this thread only when expressing an opinion.
  • I would ignore them Jim. I think that the normal staff (ie not the high flying city dudes that have dinner at the Ritz) deserve something if they have done well. It's not that much in the banks view to give to you but to you that is quite a bit of money and can pay off some debt. The poster who called you a parasite shouldn't be on here. Are they really saying that if they were in your position that they would say "No thanks" to that money?!?

99% of people on here are so nice and restore your faith in humanity but the 1% that you seem to have encountered make you lose it again!!

Congrats on getting the bonus, I'm chuffed for you and major hugs for that poster making you feel bad.

You're brill and I read your thread every day, although don't tend to post all the time.

Have a good day and don't let them get you down.

    xxx

I know you would have earnt the bonus Jim I certainly did. No idea whatmine is but whatever will be gratefully received. All this civil servant and anyone working in banking responsible for everyones suffering is really annoying  . Lloyds made a profit.

Hi Jim, it doesn't make sense to blame all Lloyds' employees for any problems - for a start most of you aren't going to be making the big decisions or to be in a position to alter them.
I applaud you for having the courage to say something.
Also - although I'm very sorry for shareholders who have lost, shareholding is a gamble and people who buy shares are warned that their value can go up or down - risks taken by others are no way your fault.
Bonuses and increments don't just happen, they have to be earned, so enjoy yours.
Anyway I'm glad you haven't stopped posting here!

Enjoy your bonus JIm! Any sane person will know it's not the cashiers etc who caused the financial industry to melt - it was the bigwigs with no qualifications, no common sense and GREED who messed everything up! Don't ever stop posting on your thread! x
