    Hi worriedjim

I have just found your thread and read it all - you are inspiring! You sound so much more positive than you did when you first posted.

I am embarking on my own weight loss journey too so I will be keeping up with your thread to see how you (and doodledo) are getting on.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I know Betty's in Harrogate ! Now I can't stop thinking about cake. I will not falter no matter how much you tempt me. I have just been into the village on an errand and did walk past 2 bakeries . Percy I wish all the success in your target weight loss- 70 lbs I think, I want to reach 168 lbs thats a loss of 49 lbs so you've beaten me already just with your commitment !
Have just spoken with Payplan and everything going ok, except mbna but been told not to worry. I can't get a payment holiday from Abbey as I am on the wrong type of mortgage as I am fixed until November and by changing will cost me more money in the long run, as they say if you don't ask you dont get.

Hi everyone, hope you dont mind me poking my nose in!! l've just started helping at weight watchers and lm on the neeeeew members table!!!!
Just reading back at some of your posts about if you have one sort of slip up you carry on, well l used to do that until my ww leader (whose really good) said if you add up how many meals you have in a week ie 21, if you slip up once or twice or even 3 times you still have 19 meals in that week to take in hand. When l thought of it like that, it really helped and l got to my goal weight, although l did put on 7lbs over xmas!!
Hope this helps and l dont sound like a lecturer!!!
  • Well Jim, I'm supposed to be giving up walkers crisps. The minimum I would eat at a time is 2 packs (more likely 3) Anyway, I'm finding the best way to cut down on crisp is just don't buy any and definately don't have any in the house:rotfl:

All the best with your finances and weight watching:T. I just want you to remember that I'm also holding your hand
    .:D
    :j I hope my comment helps :T

Salad veg is seasonal, plus tricky getting produce out of Israel at the moment.

Hi, Just found your thread. Well done for wanting to lose weight. If you go to the old style board there are some good recipes that you can cook, it might save you money as well. I ran an experiment while out shopping the other day, i decided only to put in the trolley the things that were essential,it is amazing what we put in there because we fancy it.Out went the biscuits and crips . I was thinking about my childhood and how we had homemade cakes but hardly any processed foods. We never had a takeaway , so i am trying to live by this mantra for a month and see how far i get,not that we have many takeaways or eat much junk but i am sure i will save some pennies.:rotfl:

great idea ! this morning I didn't buy anything processed and I am currently looking forward to chicken with cauliflower and broccoli which I really enjoy and have no problem eating, its the nipping out to the shop at 9pm to get the biggest bar of dairy milk and wolfing down the lot.

Hello Jim - I've just caught up with your diary again. I am so pleased that things are looking up for you.

I'm trying to lose weight too (see my siggy). I am sure you have seen that there are several weight loss threads on this board and also on the Old Style board - maybe they will give some help and inspiration? I have found that now I am getting my finances together, meal planning and shopping (sticking to the shoppling list being key) that I am also eating a lot healthier and therefore losing weight (hopefully).

Anyway - just popped in to wish you good luck.
