Had a letter from smile today advising me my account had been moved to collections. I have made a token payment to them this month and my first payment to payplan has now been made. I have been able to budget some money for xmas and was in Tescos at opening on Sunday- Jesus, I am not doing that again ! After 10 mins I abandoned my trolley and came home. This morning I went to somerfields at 8am, only 5 people in there, the staff even said it wont be too bad xmas eve. I got all the xmas booze from Aldi paid no more than £3.99 for wine, although not tried it yet.0

Jim you seem to be doing so well. And as far as being on your own for christmas I would love one year, for it to be just me, watch what I like, eat what i like when i like etc etc. So no, I don't think you are being miserable I'm actually envious. Have a good one whatever you choose to do.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0

I am actually going to show my face at friends on xmas day evening- I went last year and had to endure about 16 hours of EastEnders- I was praying for the earth to open up and swallow me, as were my friends as I kept saying every 5 mins "is Mary still in it?", or "what about oz cabs?"
I will check the tv guide and set off when all the moron programmes have finished. Why bother with Eastenders? I will tell you now that someone will end up crying in the square (redemption) whilst in the background all the other "characters" will pile out of the queen vic to sing carols around a tree bigger than trafalger square whilst it snows in London ! utter bolxxks. ba humbug.0 -

Hi Jim,
I have just read this thread from the start, and as others have already said you're a real inspiration. With your attitude and determination I am sure you'll be debt-free in record time!
Enjoy what's left of Christmas (all half an hour of it :rotfl: ), and I look forward to reading all your updates in the new year.0 -
I have been reading your thread for the best part of an hour now [everyone else in bed].
What did you think of Eastenders - poor Roxy. How messed up will Sean be now? That Christian is lovely isn't he, in all those vests:D
ps - Well done with your situation - you have made it sound so easy. Good luck for 20090
